Default New connections needed?

I have been wondering.....

If they were to come up with a 4K video format and software---how would it connect to the 4K UHDTV?

Will HDMI still be used in that case? Can it handle the upgraded content?

Thanks.

Yes, HDMI. For more detail, that can be found starting here… https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...ps#post7456457

And reading the next couple pages which include follow-up posts relevant to that subject.

I might be wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure when I peaked behind the Sony 84" 4K set at the Sony showroom, it was connected to the hard disk drive with the 4K content (movies) with two HDMI cables.

HDMI 1.4 does not have the bandwidth for 4K at 60fps. Using two cables is a workaround when you don't have enough bandwidth over a single interface.

HDMI 2.0 will increase the bandwidth to allow for 4K60.
