Question Question about the Blade Runner briefcase set...

Hey guys, a few quick questions...

I have some money left in my amazon account and was debating on whether or not the Blade Runner briefcase set is worth the $66.95 price tag. I've never seen the movie but am very interested in it after reading all of the reviews and all. I am debating on the briefcase version instead of the regular 5-disc set simply because I am a completist when it comes to movies and special editions. Is it also true that there are only a limited quantity out there? if so how many were produced? Thanks for the help.

I had thought about getting the briefcase edition myself. But I looked at the price of the regular set ($29-34) and what was in the set, I decided to pass on it. They are supposedly numbered, but I saw the set in 2 different stores, and both had 2 different total numbers. So not sure if they did a second printing.

I hate special packaging personally. There are some cool nicknacks that you will look at once and store away for ever. Everything has a really cool " made in china" sticker on it too. I would've been happier if they gave you some ultra rare disc you can play.

also another question since I saw there was a notice on the amazon page saying that the 5th disc may be incorrect. Does anyone know if this problem was fixed?

how were they numbered? Standard DVDs, hd-DVDs and the blu-ray version all got different sequencing. Btw, the numbering is complete cheese. Just black ink on silver sticker. Maybe someday I will change my box to be #1 to pawn off as Ridley's.

its good to have the error disc. You simply call Warner and by good faith they send you a replacement. Now you have the complete set and you get to keep that mislabled disc to ebay to some psycho Bladerunner nut like me for real moola.

lol...I guess you guys swayed me already...plus I guess that means I can get another Blu for the price of the briefcase instead.

Sorry for all the questions, but I am trying to build my Blu collection with some decent titles. For my other purchase I was debating on Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Once again, this is a movie I have never seen -- do you guys think its worth it for the $30 that its listed for on Amazon?

Good god man, you been living in a cave or just a young buck?

$30 is real cash so I got cheap and made it one of my b2g1 from the Sony rebate.

I hate recommending movies that are deemed as semi-classic cause people generally get their hopes up and some can't handle nonMTV pace and hate it.

Close Encounters is worth it and more and with the briefcase set of Blade Runner if it goes down to like $50-$55 range then you should get it or if you dont want to spend a lot of money just get the 5 disc set

He must be in the industry, so he doesn't want to see it on Blu at 20.

I just got my copy of the Bladerunner Über, gigantic, superduper, everything included, party edition in the mail. I think it's totally awesome but if you don't collect this kind of junk like i do then just get the five disc version that costs a lot less. It is just cool looking so i got it. It really only has the casing, two toys made in china, a nifty plastic hologram film strip thingy, some artwork on some paper and the packaging foam. The foam is the best part. And yes get Close Encounters, it is really good. If you like Spielberg, then you wont be upset.
