United Kingdom How many people approximately pre-ordered "Akira - Collector's Edition Steelbook"?

Manga's UK is making 10,000 limited copies, I know about two people who already pre-ordered, I did so too.

Didn't want to miss out on a collection like this that comes with a 40-page book, 2-disc (BD + DVD), etc.

Amazon will only start to despatch between 30 Jun 2011 - 2 July 2011

I wish it was already this month Akira steelbook would be released.

Not yet, but I will do soon. Trading it for a FutureShop Dark Knight steelbook.

Comes with a book? Is that just on Amazon or are HMV doing it too?

Comes with every Akira Manga UK Steelbook collector's edition Blu-ray.

I don't know what exactly the book is about, but it's 40 pages long.

Hm. I wonder if it is the same booklet that was included with the first-printing of Akira on BD with the slipcover? If that's the case, I am pretty sure that the review on this website explains the contents of that little booklet.

I keep forgetting to place my pre-order for this Steelbook. I should probably do it soon before other's start to pre-order copies and there's none left.

By the way, I've never ordered from Amazon.UK before so I was just wondering: How well do they package BDs?

Akira already has a thread, discussion should be moved there or to the steelbook thread.

Amazon packages it safely so it won't come damaged.

I've ordered DBZK BD sets from Amazon US and came in excellent packaging.

If you order just one steelbook, then there isn't normally any damage unless you are ordering outside of the UK. If you order multiple steelbooks from outside the UK, expect some major damage.

I preordered. I rarely preorder things but generally if it's a steelbook I want I'll lay my money down in case it goes OOP or something annoying.

I did. I'm thinking about cancelling though considering there's barely any extras on it and it's probably just the same disc as the US.

This may be something I don't buy and regret it later. I'm slightly on the fence with the PQ I know it won't ever look like Disney's The Princess and the Frog but I'm not sure if it's something I can accept though....

And I don't have any BD Steelbooks so it would be very lonely.

Do it for the book, imo. Also, this steelbook will become rare. Look at the Battle Royale LE. That's only going up in value, to say the least, so I think this would be a worthwhile investment.

US Limited Edition, Blu-ray? Amazon just shows the regular Blu-ray which is available everywhere to buy.

Unless of course, you're talking about the DVD Limited Edition.

This thin limited edition of Akira US http://www.amazon.com/Akira-Limited-...4777457&sr=1-1 looks top notch for collector's but I already have UK's The Ultimate Collection.

Correct.

The reason it can't be found on Amazon, is because it was a limited edition.

Correct.

Sometimes people sell their limited editions for a certain price, I was surprised not to see it on Amazon.

Maybe there's on eBay but not really bothered because I'll be buying Manga's UK instead.

US LE is nothing special anyway. UK version is getting a better booklet and in a steelbook (always better than a slipcase).

Amazon US do, not Amazon UK. I have given up even complaining about it to them when they arrive squashed or broken. If I actually get one undamaged I email them asking what the hell is going on (joke). Seriously though they usually get to me damaged from the UK
