Question Rising & falling brightness with scrolling text/subtitles

I own a Philip's 40PFL9705H, which is a Local dimming LED back-lit display. The dynamic backlight setting when set to maximum, gives a fantastic picture in my opinion, with fantastic black levels. I haven't seen a PDP in action, so I cannot compare , but I would presume its probably very close on terms with them. BUT... scrolling text/bright subtitles are a nightmare. Especially with scrolling text when the dynamic backlight setting is set to max. Star Wars is a great example, at the beginning with the text in space, the text flickers (in terms of brightness rising and falling) badly, but when the setting is turned off, black levels become less so and scrolling text isn't a problem (but then again you might as well purchase a CCFL backlight LCD if you select off ). I think this is a problem with local dimming backlight systems, is this the case with other manufactures or is just the Philip's display? I haven't done much research on the matter, but was just wondering whether anybody has any ideas.

Thanks.
