Default Could Self Driving Cars Get Software Updates Via ATSC 3.0?

In the future all flat panel screens that are labeled as a TV set will have built in ATSC 3.0 tuners. However maybe some cars will get the technology also for firmware updates.

I wouldn't trust a self-driving car. Now that's going way too far! It's a technology and it's subjected to malfunctions and defects. When I'm driving a car, I want to have full control of it, not a robotic mechanism. Whenever it comes a time when people don't want to drive their own cars anymore, that're really being lazy and slothful. If senior citizens can still drive their cars, so can everybody else. Self-driving cars is a waste of time and money spent on developing it because, nobody is going to buy them.

More likely 5G than ATSC 3.0

Maybe I'm thinking more along the lines of 1990s cyberpunk and the fear of technology/internet at the time by a lot of people, but something about autopilot software is new enough that I'd hope some dweeb couldn't intercept. Apparently there were reports of Tesla's technology being compromised in the past.

Free shipping is better than self driving cars.

Skip the trip.

Automated robotic cars, planes, boats, trains, and busses are ideal for the far future. Using smart highways with smart AI, human beings would no longer need to drive their car, boat, or plane. Step in the car, boat, or plane and everyone sleeps or watches a movie until they arrive at their destination. Also, with Smart highways and faster cars the speed limit could be greatly increased with the AI being able to react and make decisions 1,000 times faster than a human being. Car accidents could be reduced 90% worldwide with Smart cars that drive themselves. Maybe an earthquake, hurricane, or tornado would be events that the Smart car would not be able to always avoid, and accidents would occur from flying tress that appear out of nowhere if caught in a storm. For Smart cars, boats, trains, busses, and airplanes that automatically drive themselves, a government law would need to be put in place so that the (transportation device) like a car company would be 100% liable for any accidents that occur. However the car company would automatically have a corporate insurance so that when a consumer buys the car the high price automated car would come with complete immunity for the owner if the car is every in an accident while in the auto driving mode by the AI computer. When the cars start driving themselves, the company that made the car becomes responsible for the AI computer (firmware updates maybe needed to make improvements and fix bugs). But the mandatory car insurance that is required for Smart cars would cover all accidents as long as the car was in automatic driving mode instead of manual driving mode (the AI computer is responsible if it is driving and the human being is only responsible legally if they are in the manual driving mode and actually driving the car). Overall accidents would be a thing of the past since the AI computer is 1,000 times faster than human thinking and response to road conditions. There would be no more drunk drivers killing people on the road if everyone had a self-driving car, since the automated car is unable to get intoxicated.

I did recently watch Demolition Man.

I've been getting by without a car for some time.

At least in Demolition Man, the cars still had manual controls to operate outside of automation.
