Mind Fall (Sci-fi Thriller starring Daisy Ridley)

Graham Moore, the Oscar winning writer behind The Imitation Game, will pen futuristic thriller Mind Fall for Solstice Studios and Studio 8.

The Connection director Cedric Jimenez has been tapped to helm the movie that is set in the near future where illegal new technology allows specific memories to be removed from one person’s brain and inserted into another’s. The story follows one woman’s journey into the black market of memories, soon finding herself accused of murdering a man she has no recollection of knowing.

Studio 8’s Jeff Robinov, Guy Danella and John Graham will produce. Studio 8 and Solstice recently worked together on Robert Rodriguez’s action thriller Hypnotic starring Ben Affleck.

Solstice will finance and distribute the film in the U.S. and handle international sales. Source

Mind Fall takes place in near-future London, where the most sought-after drug on the black market is memories, physically removed from one person’s brain and implanted into another’s using a new illegal technology. Top trafficker, Ardis Varnado (Ridley) removes reminiscences from those looking for a quick buck, and then resells them to “clients,” who pay top dollar for these “mems” that bind to their subconscious, effectively becoming indistinguishable from their natural memories. Meanwhile, she battles her own addiction to the mems, often struggling to distinguish between the life she’s lived and the memories she’s implanted. So, when she’s accused of murdering one of her clients, Ardis’ instinct is to doubt her own mind. She decides to solve the crime herself, hoping to clear her name but questioning everything she’s ever thought to be real. And as she pulls back the layers, she realizes that she has every reason to do so.

Sounds very interesting indeed. I'm digging the range of roles Daisy Ridley has been choosing post-Star Wars. Looking forward to this like all the rest of her upcoming projects.

Also of note, this is now being directed by Mathieu Kassovitz who made La Haine.
