Well, we've arrived at another Halloween season, and we've been buried under another avalanche of horror blu-rays, which should keep us busy 'till next year. So, what titles are you dreaming (having nightmares) about getting a chance to add to your collection next Sept./Oct.? I'll get it started;
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre pt. 2 - This is one of my favorite horror films. Between Dennis Hopper & Bill Moseley chewing up every bit of scenery they could get their teeth on, some great splater from the legendary Tom Savini, and a fun, quirky soundtrack, it stands as one of my favorite sequels of all time. Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter - Easily my favorite of the series (Jason Lives is a close second). Ginger Snaps - Proof that you can't judge a movie by it's cover art (the U.S. DVD cover is atrocious, and the Canadian collector's edition cover ain't much better). One of my favorite werewolf movies of all time. Scanners - What the fu¢k is the hold up with this title getting a blu release? Phantasm - I wouldn't mind the sequels as well... Re-Animator - "You'll never get credit for my work! Who's gonna believe a talking head? Get a job in a side show!!" 'Nuff said... In The Mouth of Madness - The last great horror film by John Carpenter. |
