Default What exactly will profile 1.1 and 2.0 give you?

Is there any reason to wait for these profiles? Will it make the picture or audio any better? For someone who is just looking to strictly use it for watching the movie only is there any reason to wait?

i advise to wait for profile 1.1. (it gives you PiP)
Or get PS3 as they are knowingly support internet connection, which is required in profile 2.0

I have a PS3, but what can I actually do with PIP? Watch the movie and what else? What else would I want to watch while watching the movie? I am all for lots of features, but is it actually worth the wait?

BD-J for feature, comes with profile 1.1
If you have PS3, you're unlikely need new player, but who knows. Just wait for the next firmware upgrade

The only other thing i want BD players to have is full Java access. Meaning whatever it is required for Java to work fast and smoothly. And the access to all high deffinition audio codecs being done at the player level.

Anything else like PiP and downloadable content i dont care for it. Even the ethernet port in the back dotn care for it. I rather have wireless like the PS3, come on who want's to have wires runing all over the place i knwo i dont.

BD-J and BD+ aren't releated to Profile 1.1 and 2.0

Here the spec, but player must HAVE :

Profile 1.1 : 256meg of FlashRam for storage, Secondary PIP video decoder (IME style)
Profile 2.0 : 1 gig of FlashRam for storage, Secondary PIP Video Decoder, Ethernet Port (web feature)

So right now, the PS3 have 60gig of 'FlashRam', the secondary PIP Video Decoder could be programmed in software like all the rest of the PS3 BluRay playback (i mean the 360 can do it.. LOL) and it have a Ethernet Port

The PS3 60GB is a HD not flash memory based HD. The secondary PIP decoder im guessing is the Cell, while the GPU(Nvidia 7800 or 7900 PC GPU based) handles the main decoding. But there might be an actuall video decoder besides teh GPU.
The PS3 does have 512MB of flash memory thought, 256GDDR3 which runs at 700MHz for the GPU and 256XDR for the cell which runs at 3.2GHz.

So all in all, yes the PS3 does have the HW for 1.1 and 2.0 profile(Not sure if the HD could be used as the 1GB of storage requirement for 2.0).
