Hey, I know a lot of people on here have the 605 and the 805 and really seem to like them. Does anyone know about the 505 or have any recommendations. If anyone has it, or knows someone who has it I would love to hear from ya. Thanks for the info.

Stay away from the 505. You will need an optical cable for audio. It is a passthrough system. "Connections: * 1080p-compatible HDMI digital video switching (2 in, 1 out) — pass-through only (a separate cable connection is required for audio)" |

Agreed. The TX-SR505 and TX-SR575 are basically the same and you should stay away if you want to use HDMI audio. Otherwise if you want to save money....the TX-SR575 is the SAME receiver that they pack into the home theater in a box for $479.99 with all 7 speakers+subwoofer. Its a good receiver but remember that you won't be able to do much of anything with the HDMI. In order to get PCM lossless sound you would need to match that receiver with the Panansonic DMP-10AK Blu-ray player which has 7.1ch analog outs, thats what I did.
Good luck. |
