Default rainbow 6 or GRAW 2?

I only have money for one game. So what do you guys think is better to get Rainbow 6 Vegas or Ghost Recon Advanced War Fighter?

I was thinking the same thing. Possibly selling RB6v if GRAW2 is the obvious choice for online play. From playing the demo it seems a bit different, especially with aiming. I am going to play it on my friends 360 soon and get a better multiplayer feel.

When you are zoomed in on GRAW2 it seems shaky .. where in Rb6 it is more steady making it easier to make zoom / sniper shots. Is GRAW2 online like this? Does that vary depending on your weapon? Why is GRAW2 better online?

I also wonder if Ubisoft will have such crappy servers for GRAW2 as RB6 has. On RB6 mics cut in and out and load times can be very long.

RB6 doesn't use it's own servers... it uses the hosts PS3 and connection. That's why it can be good or crappy. Luck of the draw.

GRAW2 does the same thing.

The 'shaky' effect is to make it more realistic... It is a GOOD thing. You can control it by holding your breath for short periods of time, you know, like when you are firing a _real_ sniper rifle trying to hit a difficult target.

I'm hitting Walmart at midnight to grab this title for sure.

The game play is different in each you might want to rent rainbow six and download the Graw2 demo to see whic one you like better.

Can you not use the "take cover" feature against a wall in multiplayer? I can't seem to get it to work. If not what a massive bummer.

edit: I see take cover for some stupid reason is not in multiplayer. Only Peak which has been around since the 90s. So annoying. So far RB6v is a lot better for tactical... Every map I have played in GRAW you can't go inside buildings either. This is another key element missing so far..but I will give GRAW some more time to grow on me.

Ok how do I add someone to my GRAW 2 friends list that is on my PS3 friends list? It seems I can only add users to my GRAW2 friends list by playing in a game with them first? This is ridiculous.. I know my friend name and just want to add them. It is impossible to "happen" to load into a game with my friend. Tell me there is another way.. LOL

Both games are amazing and you'll enjoy both of them. I prefer 6, but I have only played the 360 verison of GRAW 2.

If you go with Rainbow 6, just remember that if you have 1080P setup, you'll have to change your settings on your PS3 to 780P for this game. For some reason the 1080i and 1080p verison of this game look like crap on the PS3 (all blurry... even from the start screen), while the 780p verison looks just as good as the 360 verison. Not sure why this is, but I am sure it's the reason why this game was delayed for a good month plus for the PS3.

Some people have failed to catch this little issue, and have played the game on the 1080i/1080p setting. These people are the ones leaving the bad reviews for the PS3 verison of Rainbow 6.

I don't believe the 1080i/1080P issue for GRAW2 on the PS3. I have only played the demo of GRAW 2 for the PS3, so I cannot confirm or deny it.

Honestly, you cannot go wrong with either game. Both have an amazing story mode and awesome online play. I do think that Rainbow is the harder of the two games... if that makes any difference to you.

I have an idea! Why don't you buy Ghost Recon Advanced War Fighter and beat it. Then I'll trade you my Rainbow 6 Vegas for it. So you can play two games for the price of one. What do you think about this idea? Let me know, thanks.

Default Question about both games

Can you play in "co-op" mode on both these games (2 people cooperating, offline)?

If so, is any of them better than the other in this?

I played only Rainbow 6 Vegas, but yes you can play in "co-op" mode on both these games (2 people cooperating, offline). So I can't tell you which one is better.

I rented R6V and my wife just bought me GRAW2. Having played both, I think R6V has better tactical gameplay but the graphics ( tried it on 720P ) along with the poor matching matchmaking were the reasons I didn't buy it. GRAW looks a lot better and the online matchmaking is much better. It's not quite RFOM but it's close. The biggest difference to me is that GRAW is all outdoors and R6V is mostly indoors. GRAW also doesn't have the same cover system in online play that R6V had. I really like that part, being able to take cover and then shoot around it. My hope is that they will add this in a later update but for the moment, I still would rather play GRAW than R6V due to nuisances of R6V.

I know I'm a little late, but I just beat R6V and picked up GRAW 2 soon afterwards. I've been playing GR and the controls are so much better on R6 and GR is a good deal easier.

If you have money to buy only one modern shooter this year, I'd say save your money and spring for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on November 5.
