Default V for Vendetta (True HD track included)

A quick note to those who might be interested - the Spanish release of V for Vendetta will offer a Dolby True HD track according to ZONA. The disc is also going to be region-free. Street date is June 24th.

Ciao,
Pro-B

There is a very good chance that the US version will have TrueHD, right? The HD DVD version had TrueHD and the European release will include or has TrueHD. So why would Warner not include TrueHD on the US version?

maybe to gently remind us that even Warner, blu-ray-FTW-Warner, is afer all just another one of the large movie studios and it's unfashionable and silly to give your consumers everything they paid their money for, especially something as trifle as incredible-sounding 24-bit lossless audio. Crappy compressed DD should be enough for us, rightt???

Well, that's a cynical viewpoint. I however am more optimistic based on this news.

I hope that Warner re-encodes V for Blu-ray. The HD DVD version has an average video bit rate of just 12 Mbps.

This is also a must for me if they plan on getting my money for it.

However, I don't think that a "re-encode" is entirely necessary. They just need to maximize the bitrates. The VC-1 codec proves itself equally as good as AVC when the bitrates aren't starved. They should already have the core work done on the video file itself. It just needs to be programmed to send more information within every second.

You are right. I would be pizzed off if Warner ports from HD DVD. It looked only a tad better than upconverted DVD but the True HD track sounded terrific.

What kind of PIZZED off would you be exactly? Just a pep & cheese pizzed? Or maybe a deluxe, mediterrenean, vegitarian, Hawaiian pizzed?

Instead of bluntly using pi**ed off I had used PIZZED off similar to phucked up.

WB is not re-encoding any of their former HD DVD exclusives.

If they were, they would be shouting it from the mountaintops.
