Never seen Mr. Tibbs, may give it a shot. I love ItHotN so much, I don't want a sequel to possibly taint it for me

I'm a huge Poitier fan, but I do have to admit that the sequel isn't that great of a film. But any Poitier film to me is satisfactory. They need to release To Sir, With Love II on blu ray lol

Recently picked this up during a kino sale, and I have to say avoid the organization at all costs. This film is an absolute mess, boring, and does not hold up at all. As far as the picture quality on the kino blu ray its just simply bad. Every scene has dirt and scratches. Is it better than a dvd yeah but this a complete misfire of a release and a film.

Watched Mister Tibbs for the first time in like 2 decades last night. Honestly remember the movie being better than it was. Kind of “by the book” police drama and all the shit with his kid is just weird. Kind of reminded me of a TV movie. It would be an ok movie as a stand-alone, but as a sequel to In the Heat of the Night? Woof!

Anyone have the In the Heat of the Night 4K to compare to the Tibbs/Organization release with the slipcover? The 2nd/3rd movie discs are different in terms of extras included, so I was wondering if the slipcover edition may have better picture quality?
