United Kingdom Automata - Antonio Banderas

Lionsgate snuck this one out but i saw it in HMV yesterday with a slip. For those who haven't seen this, it is a fantastic science fiction movie starring Antonion Banderas about AI and robots. It's like a mix of Blade Runner, Mad Max and I, Robot. The visual are awesome and the robots are amazingly well done. The performances are great too, i highly recommend it.

Such a good film and had very little hype last year! Definitely similar to Blade Runner

Yeah i can't believe there's so little interest in it on these forums, this movie is fantastic and i thought we had loads of sci fi nuts here, where are they?

Sounds great, have almost bought it a couple of times. Thought it was like a 'straight to video' so was waiting for the £5-£6 price. Only gone by back of box description, as I tend to dislike critics reviews (All sound so self important although never made or produced a movie themselves.)

So this comes highly recommended. Mmmm might bite sooner

It's really great. Intelligent, well thought out science fiction from a visionary director with fantastic performances and some of the best depicted robots you have ever seen in a sci fi movie. The visuals alone make it worth the purchase but the story is really good too and has plenty of great ideas on the nature of what defines a machine and where the crossover between man and machine is. I hadn't bought it yet but i think i'll pop into HMV today and pick it up.

It is okay. I watched it on Netflix (US) months ago. I probably wouldn't buy the BD... unless it was in a sale... or a steelbook

Thats good advice, agreed with the negative reviews pretty much.
It's wasn't really bad, but overall a letdown for me 5/10

It's okay, it has some alright ideas but they're all pretty derivative and it seriously starts to drag in that DTV way around the middle point.

It's worth a watch, but it's not a keeper.
