United Kingdom how much on average do new release blu ray movies cost you guys in the U.S?

I notice lots of people from the U.S with HUGE blu ray collections lol!

here in the UK i would say it is around £15 for a latest release movie, so thats around 23 dollars in your money?

By "new release", are you referring only to recently-produced films hitting the Blu-Ray market, or are you accounting for older titles as well?

I think the cheapest film I purchased new on Blu-Ray was 1996's "The Phantom", which Wal-Mart had for $8 at the time. As for recent films, they usually hover between $15 and $30, depending on which edition, features, or dimensional presentation you buy. I stick with standard 2D myself, and I don't recall paying more than $25 for a solo title, but I could be wrong.

yes I mean titles new in the market, such as first release after box office.

America seems to be soooo much cheaper than England

I think I am getting ripped off lol, what is the minimum wage in the USA?

While Cost really doesn't play into it if i want the film on Blu Day One, Between Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and Target You Can usually get Standard Blu 2D For 20.00 or less, non-Criterion.

It varies slightly by state, but I think the national average is around $7.25 right now.

I just don't buy new releases when they first come out. I wait until theyre on sale. I'd say my average cost of a blu in collection is in the $10-12 range. (not counting box sets, steelbooks, digibooks, criterions, etc)

In Canada, the new releases are usually $27.99 - $36.99!!!

This explains why I shop mostly on Amazon.com! I save $5 - $12 per title this way!

Canada is finally waking up to the need for better minimum wages. B.C. has long been the most expensive place to live in Canada and it has had the lowest wage rates in the country. Just this year they finally started raising the minimum. By May of 2013 we will finally be at $10.25 or $10.50 per hour.

Most major releases are on sale for $20-25 the first week of release. Then they tend to go up to $25-30 and then have various sales in the $10-20 range after a year or so depending on title.

I try never to pay more than $19.99 for a new release and with coupons it generally drops to $14.99.

I do pay more for something special coming from Japan or Korea.

Where I'm at it hovers between $19.99 and $22.99. Sometimes it goes to $24.99 as with Super 8, but I just had to have that one.
