Yes, and would hope that a potential release in the proper aspect ratio and the holiday specials too.

Those "remastered" DVDs raise a lot of red flags about the aspect ratio and the source materials used. The altered credits alone were enough to make me not buy them when I already had the Fox DVDs and already taped at least 2/3 of it when it was new. I hope those don't carry over into post-DVD formats.

Yes, they were reissued by PBS Home Video in a 16x9 ratio.

The US Acres segments were only added for educational value, and are generally hated.

I wonder if the remaster was produced in 16:9, that would kill any chance of a decent re-release.

Too many bootlegs of the older DVD releases around now. I think the original DVD releases used black cases, while the bootlegs seem to use clear cases.

I enjoyed the US Acres segments though the Garfield ones were of course better more often then not.

Who even has the home video rights for this now? Hopefully not Fox as that means we’ll never get a BD set as Disney would never allow it!

Public Media Distribution (PBS) had them under a licensing deal with 9Story previously iirc

Just checked and the DVDs in print are from PBS but it seems to be only the first 50 episodes available. I’ll keep my fingers crossed one day we’ll get a full series boxset.
