Default Finally, SONY is educating the population PS3 is a BluRay.

http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3

it says "BLU-RAY, NOT JUST HIGH DEFINITION, HIGHER DEFINITION" blow a PS3 picture on their site first time ever...

SONY is putting the effort now, for it's own sake also Blu-Ray, hmmm what about the other major players? I see Panasonic is moving.... others.... ?? anyone???

actually i found this rather annoying. why don't they do it from the beginning by putting stuff like this by the time of ps3 releases, and so attract more potential buyer?
as for me, I bought PS2 (when there was no good games) in order to watch DVD (I know it because they actually explain/promote it on the website as dvd player), and to secure ability to play tekken tag

I was wondering when they were going to start doing this. It's about freaking time!

I picked up my weekly comic book stash the other day (yeah, I know, I'm a geezer and I again read comic books), and there were beautiful, full color PS3 ads from Sony inside. However, there was nary a *single* reference in any of those snazzy ads to the PS3 player being a prime Blu-ray portal of movie ectasy. Boggles the mind.

I mean, some of the folks who buy comic books may also be gamers, but they are also likely to be the ones who'd buy the many, many super-hero and comic-book-related movie titles that are flooding out in Blu-ray now--and in the near future. Shoulda been done long ago (even now would be nice).

i think it may be a timeing thing ..by makeing sure you can lower prices at a slower rate but keep profit margins high the CE companies would stick to blu-ray. though i can say for me its never to early to start the dialog to inform the public. i think at that time makeing sure the foundation of CE support was a priority with SOME OF THE BDA backers. than worry about marketing later...yea that sucks in the short term but when the support and promotion support get going than that changes some views and actions by the consumer and the companies that support a product.
