Does anyone know how to change a blu-ray movie from widescreen to fullscreen? Those black bars on the screen are a pain! I went through manual after manual. Nothing yet. Im able to stretch my regular widescreen dvd collection with my other dvd player through the plasma, but not the PS3. It only allows 16:9 and 4:3.
I have a Samsung HP-S4253 plasma with a PS3 60GB. |

As far as stretching the image goes, that's going to be a setting on your tv...not on the ps3.
Blu-rays are always going to be widescreen, if your tv is 16:9 widescreen, you will still see black bars on most movies since a lot of movies have different widescreen aspect ratios. Make sure you are not distorting or stretching movies in any way, it takes away from the quality and purpose of HD |

Please read this thread https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=16529 before you post your non-knowledge about movie aspect ratios.

ZOOM FEATURE!
j6p will never understand a thing about OAR... best not try to edumacate them (because 1080i is TRUE HD and you can get it using COMPOSITE cables) and just start implementing ZOOM on all TVs... that way us purists get what we want and those that love full screen get theirs. |

To get rid of any empty space surrounding a movie format's image, buy an HDTV that zooms 720/1080 signals 33%. Or buy a front projector with a zoom lens of 1.35x or greater, and a 2.40 wide screen.
See this Mensrea69: Black bars? 4:3-16:9-2.35 Widescreen Fullscreen Scope OAR sticky threads And here's a list simplepinoi177 had been compiling of Blu-rays with programs and movies in widescreen aspect ratios that fill a HDTV's 1.78 wide 16:9 screen: List of Fullscreen 16:9 1.66-1.85:1 Blu-rays |
