United Kingdom Killer Joe October Release Date?

Hey guys just wondering of those based in the UK whether you guys knew of the official release date for "Killer Joe" bluray. It's probably one of my more anticipated releases this year. Amazon on most reputable other online retailer seem to suggest a release date of 05/11/12.

This is in direct contrast with some other listed sites and forums i've come across which have an October-ish slated release date.

looks like this might be missing all the extras of the U.S release. does anyone know if the German release will have the Friedkin commentary?

Just about to grab this and then noticed the US release will be a unrated Dir Cut???

So there is an NC17 Theatrical and now an Unrated Dir Cut!!

So what's on the UK BD??

I dare say that the Unrated release is a way of getting around the NC-17 rating on home video. There will also supposedly be an R-Rated cut on the US release as well, so that'll obviously be the cut version.

From what I can see, all uncut versions are just over 102mins and that includes the UK release,(this site lists the PAL running speed of the DVD, as does the BD cover). The BBFC have no cuts listed and I believe them, in this instance.

Melonfarmers and the like, also state that it's uncut and they'd probably be the first to have a cry about it, if it wasn't.

could you please confirm the presence of English subtitles (English SDH ?)
I've found and read a review here :
http://www.avforums.com/movies/Kille...8/blu-ray.html
they don't talk about subtitles...

generally Blu-Ray UK have English SDH subtitles, but not always...

thanks in advance for your help...

Blind buy, good film and nice slip cover. Not sure what others thought about the ending and what may have 'happened next'.

I really liked the film but I found the ending to be a disappointment.

Spoilers for those who haven't seen it...

I find that sort of sudden end may work in the threatre - as Killer Joe was based on a play - where the curtain suddenly comes down but, on the whole, not for film where it instead comes across as a lazy cop-out. It's supposed to make you wonder what happened next but instead I just thought about how the filmmakers didn't know what came next. It didn't come across as clever, it came across as lazy and a bit smug.

I'm not saying this sort of ending can't be used in film, either as a karmic punchline (e.g. Lock, Stock) or as a lack of catharsis to get you speculating about where the characters go from here (a film that springs to mind is very recent so I'll put the name in spoiler tags -
[Show spoiler]The Hunt
, which is an incredible film if anyone can find it showing). But here it didn't work at all for me.

Agree with that. Great post. Thought very much the same, can see it working as a play a really good point.

Sometimes I appreciate an ending that makes me ponder what happens to the characters. Sometimes I do prefer the ending to be finished.

Not sure if you've seen Kill List (totally different films) but I would have preferred a more clearer end. This is similar for me, I think I'd have preferred Killer Joe to have a more final end as well.

Enjoyed it though.
