United Kingdom Outcasts BBC Sci-Fi April 4th 2011

Amazon have this up for a pre-order April 4th 2011 release date. Outcasts Blu-ray

I've really been enjoying the show it's great in a low-fi-sci-fi kind of way. Was gutted that only one episode was shown this week. I've been watching them back-to-back on my PS3 through iPlayer on a Wednesday night. Should look great in HD as well.

This is a fantastic series! Glad to see its being released on Blu-ray. Its a shame that it's been moved to the graveyard slot (10.25 on Sunday) on BBC One though, its only getting 2.3 million an episode...

I've been watching it with my sister who's really enjoying it as well (I watched the first one to check the content lol) shame people aren't interested. This has a bit of every genre in it so it hould have had mass appeal. The cast and crew have done themself proud though. I'll be gutted if it ends on a cliffhanger and doesn't have a 2nd series.

Whilst not generally a good idea to pick up on an old thread...

The BBC have said, according to this item from Digital Spy, there will be no second series.

It was ok, I gave up because of the time slot it got moved too. I liked the concept of the series but it was just too slow in some parts of the episode because they're an hour long.

The series was bought on spec because of Kudos record with Spooks and Life On Mars. Outcasts had potential but squandered it, very little happened in the first two episodes, the brain scanning thingy was conveniently forgotten when it could have wrapped up an episode in five minutes, among the unanswered questions were why someone should lug their vinyl collection halfway round the galaxy and why the handgun of the future is a Glock with its slide painted red. It really is lazy writing to end series with a cliffhanger, when there isn't another series it makes you feel the time you've spent has been wasted

When BBC1 got a new controller he was keen to show his authority by killing an underperforming programme.

Well done British public another sci-fi shows bites the dust. I think I'll still get the Blu-ray though. The show had some great characters and it's worth a repeat viewing for the scenery alone....

It was out today as well (I'd forgotten about that).
