I know JBHIFI is releasing one here although like the Thor steelbook may not be released in Aus.

JB HIFI are releasing it in a special slipcover, Sanity are releasing as a "metal packaging" whatever that will be

thats interesting, never ordered online from JB before, anyone ever received JB orders from New Zeland before?
do they package the items well?

I've heard from people overseas that their packaging is quite limited and not very protective so I have avoided ordering online and just visit the store on release day.

There's a free text box at the end of the order process. Write you want it packaged in a box to avoid damage and they'll usually do that. If you don't it'll end up in a jiffy bag and you can guess how that'll end up.

Perfectly fine? i've never had a problem with JB from Aus or NZ..

Unlike JB Australia where they will definitely ship in a box when sending 2 or more items overseas that's not the case with JB NZ. I've ordered stuff from them and it's come stuffed in a jiffy bag which just plain does not cut it when travelling internationally, especially for SteelBooks.

A few people got burned that way when ordering the last of those Green Zone SteelBooks if I remember correctly too. EDIT:

You have to ask for a box otherwise you're likely to just get a jiffy bag. I've asked once for a box and they complied with the request - if anyone's considering ordering I would highly recommend requesting a box.

I just received Paranormal Activity from JB Australia, and it came in a Jiffy bag. My previous order for two SteelBooks came very well packaged in a box.

The moral of the story is.......Always buy two

yeah I was checking out the Sanity website, I even rang them but all they could tell me was, it's a metal packaging.
I asked if they meant steelbook or perhaps a metal slip but the guy didn't even know the difference between them

Hey guys, I actually ordered this pre-ordered this from Sanity. First time I've ever used their website. It shipped yesterday and I received it today. I know, I couldn't believe it either especially given it isn't out oficially until the 19th or something.

I can tell you that it is in fact a steelbook. Nice design on the front (embossed) and the back as well.

I can post pics if you like.

I'll definately use them in the future (Super 8 and probably Rise of the Planet of the Apes), especially if I get it days before actual release.

I should also point out (you guys probably already would know) that it did have a slip of paper covering on the back detailing the film itself the features, specs etc. I just took it off because I like the back design.

Technically thats not a steelbook...no spine. its like a BD sized packaging like Narnia 3 without the amray case.
