In Theaters February 10th
Set in 1999 Los Angeles, veteran police officer Dave Brown, the last of the renegade cops, works to take care of his family, and struggles for his own survival. Director: Oren Moverman, Writers: James Ellroy, Oren Moverman, Stars: Woody Harrelson, Ben Foster and Sigourney Weaver Despite Woody Harrelson’s attempts to deflect the early Oscar Buzz for his portrayl of a “dirty cop” in Rampart, the media continue to praise his performance in the film. CNN International and The Globe and Mail are two of the latest media outlets to gush about Harrelson’s “Best Actor” chances at the 2012 Academy Awards. Woody Harrelson could be a serious Oscar contender. Harrelson has shown his mettle before of course, in Milos Forman’s “The People vs Larry Flynt,” when he was nominated for Best Actor; in Oliver Stone’s “Natural Born Killers”; as well as in last year’s Iraq vet drama “The Messenger” (when he was nominated in the Supporting slot). But he’s never given such a commanding and well-rounded performance as he shows us in “Rampart,” a second collaboration with “Messenger” director Oren Moverman, a no-holds-barred portrait of a corrupt cop penned by James Ellroy. Harrelson doesn’t just dare to show us this dinosaur’s very dark side, he also dares us not to care. — CNN International As a barely hinged, highly literate thug of a policeman in the pitch-black L.A. cop drama Rampart, Harrelson will beat the Oscar’s best-actor field like they were drums, … – The Globe and Mail Can't wait to see this flick in the theater up on the HUGE screen with a big bucket of hot buttered popcorn. ![]() |

Woody was on Letterman last night and Dave seemed pretty pumped about the movie and Woody's performance in it. It is a bit spoiler-ish but Dave asks Woody like 3 times if it's ok to discuss the ending. So there's plenty of warning. I kinda flipped channels so I wouldn't hear too much.
The movie sounds/looks good though! |

I've always liked Woody and I hope he picks up an Oscar for his performance in Rampart. Did you see him in the comedy/drama Defendor? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1303828/ |

Poor Woody...
I really like him, but seems he (probably more like his agent/ publicist) shot himself in the foot when trying to do an online chat about what he thought would be his new movie. Thing is .. the chat is named "Ask Me Anything" (AMA). http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/trending...164748376.html Quote:

Watched that go down on Reddit. It was quite an amazing feet actually. The best part was when a user asked Woody to confirm a story about crashing his prom and taking the virginity of his girlfriend or just friend. Instant meme created.
