Default Alien Anthology: which set are you getting?

Just a poll out of curiosity to see how many people are going to be buying this set, be it the Standard Edition or Limited Egg edition. Personally, I've got my pre-order in for the Egg Edition.

This was suggested in the Alien Anthology thread, but I'm not aware that you can add a poll to an existing thread. If you can, mods are you able to do this?

Thanks.

I was seriously considering getting the Limited Edition Egg set, but the price is just far too high, it's more than double the regular edition, which is rather excessive, and considering there are so many other Blu-ray titles I want, I've just decided to go with the regular edition.

The Egg set looks really cool, but I have a feeling that the holder for the discs is not going to be very strong, because it's much smaller than the regular edition and does look a little flimsy. So there's another reason to get the regular edition, well at least in my view.

I expect, at the end of the day, that both sets (regardless of whichever people buy) are going to be great. I admit I was surprised when the pricing was announced as I was expecting £100 minimum for the Egg, but I managed to grab a copy of it when Tesco had it for pre-order, and by using a 15% discount code, got it down to £65 . Just means that all other BD's that I want (apart from the £53 Supernatural 1-5 BD boxset that I've recently pre-ordered) I'll ask for for Christmas.

Got the egg set on pre-order.

Initially, I was going to just get the standard edition, but then I saw that HMV, Woolworths, The Hut, etc. were selling out and I quickly placed my order at Play.

I should really be saving, but that egg is too good to pass up. Cheaper than I thought it would be, too, considering it's a slideshow collectible that lights up.

If I could have got it from Tesco then I would of, because £65 is a much better price; but by the time I even got round pre-ordering the Egg set from Tesco, they'd sold out.

You'll have to post some photos of what the Egg set actually looks like once you get it, because although we had those ones from Comic-Con, it would have been nice to see how the whole package fits together.

Ordered the Egg from Play for £89.99 - hopefully they will have enough stock. All the other big sites are sold out but they still have it up for pre-order. Still hoping Amazon will have a pre-order up at some point.

Shame that, they've gone really quick (apart from Play), and Amazon.co.uk never (as far as I'm aware) offered the Egg edition.

I expect there'll be numerous pics that day when people start receiving them, both standard and limited

I would guess that Amazon have made a deal with Fox, where they can't sell it, because Amazon.com haven't been able to sell it, so it seems this applies to all Amazon sites, and that in itself is probably very annoying for a lot purchasers because they pre-order from Amazon because of their reliablity, but this time they can't.

Regular edition for me, would have preferred the egg to have been in scale + i have far too many Alien collectibles by Sideshow as it is.

Since the Egg version can be had here for 110 euros, I'm sure that I'll be able to get the standard version for around 50, so I'll buy the standard version. The set will be excellent without the Egg, anyway.

Standard edition. Egg price is out of my league, considering there is so much other stuff I want.

Not sure what you mean by that, its available for order on Amazon.fr and there is a listing up on Amazon.de

But for me, its the egg version without doubt, ordered from HMV

Well I wasn't aware that because I don't go on Amazon.fr and Amazon.de, since I don't import titles so have no need to look on there.

But the chances are that they probably have a deal with both Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk; because for the US release Fox have said you can only get the Egg if you order it via there website, or at Comic-Con when it was on, and so you can't get off Amazon.com, and I would guess that Fox have some sort of deal with Amazon.com, and also Amazon.co.uk, because if the UK branch was going to get copies in then they would have it by now. That's why I think that maybe Fox and Amazon have a deal, well certainly for Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk, the English speaking countries.

I ordered the standard edition. I thought long and hard about the egg edition but I decided it was too expensive and that I have nowhere to put it. Plus I don't have any other collectible items like that so it would look so out of place, even if it is as cool as it looks. Also I don't like the fact the alien is so out of proportion!
