Quote:
Some people will do anything for a million dollars ... even if it means killing anyone who gets in their way!

Written and directed by the legendary Sam Peckinpah (The Wild Bunch, Straw Dogs) and starring Gig Young (They Shoot Horses, Don't They?), Warren Oates (Stripes), Robert Webber (The Dirty Dozen), Kris Kristofferson (Blade), and Isela Vega (The Black Widow), Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia is a gritty classic that vibrates with explosive action and nail-biting tension.

When a land baron puts a million dollars on the head of the man who seduced his daughter, two money-hungry men (Young and Webber) recruit a small-town bartender (Oates) to help them do their dirty work. But their tequila-fueled trek across the desolate Mexican frontier grows more intense, gruesome, and bloody with every murder they leave in their wake!

Please Note: This release only includes a 4K UHD disc—it does not contain a Blu-ray disc.

I've avoided the multiple BDs of this even though I've always wanted to own this. How many different labels have put this one out now?

I'm not complaining. Was actually just thinking about this the other day.

Day 1!

This might be rare occurrence where I'll have to hold onto the Blu from Arrow. Doubt this edition will carry over those 10hrs of interviews.

I'm in the opposite camp and bought every single one curious if Shout licensed from Arrow if they got the extras too

The Twilight Time Blu was passable but Arrow's BD blew it out of the water so I may just hold onto that. If I do decide to grab a copy it'll be so I have a Region A edition.

Love this movie, but will also likely hold out for an Arrow 4K. Already have their excellent LE Blu-ray.

Kino has a BD based on a 4K restoration…appears to be in print. Has Shout released any UHD only editions?

Yes, here's one:

Their upcoming release of Lord of Illusions 4K will be 4K only too most likely, since Sandpiper Pictures grabbed the Blu-ray rights.

I don't expect to see those "extended" "Man of Iron" interviews to ever be on an official release again. Not to mention, Criterion probably have some sort of exclusivity with "Man of Iron" being on their "Straw Dogs" release. I do hope that at least the Mike Siegel-produced extras will be included again (KLI claimed that MGM wouldn't clear them).

One of my favourite Peckinpah films. Just watched the Arrow Blu-ray (which is excellent) again recently.

I'm going to find it hard to resist buying this and probably won't have the patience to wait for another 4K further down the line.

Nice to see. Have the Imprint edition and the two disc Arrow version so I’m covered for the extras so would be nice to how this looks in 4k. Slowly his movies are making their way to 4k.

(Posted in several threads)

Does anyone have any older tapes, DVDs, or the Imprint Blu-ray of Alfredo Garcia? And if so, do any of them have the burned-in captions?

Well, I recently offered the package to them.
We will see.

So far I was very happy with the IMPRINT deal, which included
some 7 or 8 hrs of my Passion & Poetry footage.

Release date according to Amazon 3rd June, back cover lists two audio commentaries with the Peckinpah scholars, new interview with film historian Julie Kirgo, image gallery and trailer, looks like I'll be keeping my Arrow and Twilight Time Blu rays.
More Peckinpah on 4K is welcome, here's hoping The Wild Bunch is coming soon.

It’s a shame that MGM, seemingly, won’t allow the Katy Haber commentary to be re-released again in the US (it was on the Imprint release).

Looks like the money went in the right place on this one - ie. a NEW SCAN and DOLBY VISION! Fantastic! Unrealistic fan expectations met
