Default The "Blu-rays you should sell" thread

So i was not sure if there was already a thread like this but he we go.

The way it works is, Help the User above you decide what films need to be sold and state why? The reason for this is to help people get some money to buy other films on blu ray that are much better or maybe just simply stating why the movie sucks and why you should just be selling it off.

This also helps if you are in need of money and do not have anymore to buy other blu ray titles...

Interesting.

My friend says I should sell Lost.

He likely thinks I should sell most of my stuff.

I'm not into selling stuff. I should sell my slipcovers though.

I looked through your collection and didn't see anything I wanted to buy so I don't think you should sell anything.

I bought 2012 for under $1.

Not sure it has resale value.

It's fun to watch the world fall apart.

How do you imagine your going to know what film I want?

I enjoy some bad movies.

I would sell my Hanna Montana movie because I got it for the kids and they don't want to watch it,... Wonder if it has any resale value.

I would say you ought to sell happy feet 2 but I aint offering to buy it.

2012 is worth $2 on amazon and the Hanna Montana is worth nearly a dollar. Seems like maybe having a real job would net ya more money.

Wells its not knowing what film you would want, its more on the lines of whats based on your collection and liking's or maybe you should just sell the film to completely buy something different.

Ok,

You ought to sell bad boys (will smith version) I couldnt sit through my copy.

Maybe Troy and/or Imortals cuz I heard they are crap but I haven't seen them so I'm not sure.

Good luck,

Brian

Sell the movies that YOU don't like, not what everybody else think you ought to sell because, their taste of movies may be different than yours. For instance: that's like asking somebody if you should sell your house or your car. You'll always have the final decision.

Yeah but you should sell Alien Anthology and Priest.
Not because I don't like them but because you've got 2 of them

You should sell A Tale of Two Sisters because there is a DVD that is better than the Blu-ray.

You're right, I'll ditch the Tartan release as soon as the Korean version gets released.

Off topic here:

If your location is The Dutch Mountains...do you live in Limburg?

On Topic:

Bit of a weird thread, but ok....I might suggest selling a title if you don't intend on watching it again. I know I have several of those in my collection.

Don't want to pick on anyone's collection so not gonna suggest ya'll sale anything. Personally I did alot of blu ray cleaning this year. My collection was around 175 and I realized more than half of the films I owned I never wanted to see again. It seemed I only purchased alot of them because they were a good bargain. Or they had fond adolescent memories. In some instances I'd buy a film because it was considered an important part of cinema history. Once I started thinking about it I figured out that for me, the way I needed be collecting movies from now on should be based on what I will want to constantly rewatch. There are of course my all time favorite catalog titles I must own because I will rewatch them over & over. But not all fims are endlessly rewatchable. I find now I'm more willing to shell out a 20 dollar bill for a new release on a hunch blind buy than grab 2 or 3 catalog titles for the same 20 bucks. This is simply because if I get lucky and enjoy the new blind buy title I will definetly rewatch it several times b4 I'm tired of it as opposed to a catalog I've probably seen tons of times b4 I even unwrap it. I guess my new movie buying criteria is not how many can I buy cheaply, or I use to love this movie, but how many times will I watch this movie over the next few years.

Here’s my advice:
1. Stop buying all these steelbooks and fancy editions. Do you stare at them for hours on end or have them on display somehow? If neither, stop buying them. Complete waste in my opinion only because I used to do similar things. Silly.
2. Overall, I enjoy your taste in movies as it seems similar in mine.
3. The Hangover (I love), The Hangover 2 (same movie as 1 but so much forced acting to make the same jokes about similar things as the first one. You may sell this.
4. Avatar is the worst movie I’ve seen since…..actually I don’t remember anything worse than that. DON’T sell this. Instead, destroy it so no one else can potentially see it. Hopefully you just have this for “reference” material.
5. Really dig your collection after going through it again. Good stuff. Well everything but the aforementioned and Fast and The Furious.
6. I really enjoyed your thread here. Better than another name your top five movies list.

I'm not sure I understand the title of the post. An 'apostrophe s' implies ownership, and I'm not sure what "movie's" owns.

Like a lot of people, I learned my lesson from my DVD-buying days. I had thousands and never saw most more than once. I was just looking over my blu-ray collection last night (about 270 of them, and almost nothing I wasn't eager to watch again. That being said, even if I like a movie, if it goes OOP and worth a lot, it goes up for sale. It'll eventually come back in print and more than pay for itself. I just got over $60 for Never Say Never Again (which was a so-so film with a lousy transfer). Third Man and Monsters Inc went the same way.

OHhhhhhhhhhhhhh. The user above you. This thread is awesome. Mine was to OP but I will revise and make YOU the person above me You got like 400 movies. Unless you have more than 24 hours in a day, sell 200 of them and then we can have a serious conversation.
