Default What innovations/throwbacks should Viva consider for its Elite cases?

Booklet Clips in Slim Cases

Single- and double-disc slim Viva Elites are 6mm thick, which makes them...really thin. In comparison, a slim DVD case is typically 7mm thick. Apparently, somebody makes a generic, slim 7mm Blu-ray Disc case with a feature that is sadly missing from the Elite, namely, booklet clips (http://www.checkoutstore.com/PREMIUM...-p/brcases.htm). Considering that a slim DVD case also does NOT normally have booklet clips, should Viva consider redesigning their slim Elites to include this feature, notwithstanding the fact that trying to jam something else into a slim case, besides the disc(s), may actually prevent it from closing properly?

Die-Cut Swing Trays in Multi-Disc Cases

Single- or double-disc swing trays can be used in three sizes of multi-disc Viva Elite cases: 12.5mm, 15mm, and 25mm. The green, eco-friendly Viva Eco-Box, with its cutouts of the international recycling symbol on the front of the case and the spokes of a wheel on the back, can be a polarizing issue for forum members. Should Viva go back to the drawing board and think about using a die-cut machine to punch out some of the plastic from the swing trays, even though it would probably make them even flimsier?

Redesign the Disc Hubs on the Swing Trays

Sometimes, discs on swing trays in a multi-disc Viva Elite case aren't always held securely, leading to the "free-floating disc phenomenon." The swing trays used in 15.8mm and 21.8mm MeadWestvaco Vortex multi-disc cases have disc hubs that are ever so slightly taller than the hubs used on the Elites, which seems to result in fewer instances of free-floating discs. Should Viva redesign their swing tray disc hubs, maybe by making them taller, to more securely hold discs in place?

Give Them Back Their Feet

Prior to being acquired by Viva, the Elite suite of cases were developed by Seastone for use as HD DVD cases. And some of the early designs included two flat surfaces on the bottom edge of the case, that I believe were meant to help support the case when stored upright. That's right, some of the early Elites had...feet!?! Should Viva put feet back on its cases?

Clear Windows for Double-Sided Cover Inserts

The 11mm Scanavo Vixible is considered to be a green, eco-friendly case, because it uses clear windows (only clarifiers have been added to the polypropylene (PP)) in tinted frames (clarifiers make the PP clear, while colorants provide the tint), so that a double-sided cover insert can easily be read through the case, thus eliminating the need to place some additional material (especially the kind that eventually gets thrown away) underneath the booklet clips. In the photos above, there is a Seastone Elite with smoked windows in a black, opaque frame (no clarifiers were used to make the PP transparent and pigments provide the color). Should Viva think about making cases with clear windows like the Scanavo Vixible case?
