Problems with PS3 playing certain discs - Blu-ray Forum

Anyone else having issues with their PS3 playing any of the following discs:-

Thor
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

Both of these were watched on release with no issues but now both discs just won't be recognised by my PS3 - it just whurs and stops and whurs and stops. I have a 250GB slim with the latest firmware.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have that problem. Some DVDs play and some do not. Some don't play that used too play. Haven't tried HP DH pt. 1.

I called Sony tech support on this about a year ago and they said "they have never heard of this problem." Of course they would say that...
