Default Buying blu rays from Amazon

I just ordered 2 blu rays from amazon and am just wondering if the package will be able to fit in an apartment mailbox since I probably won't be home to receive i?

I dont think this is the proper thread for this, but it's not Amazon doing the delivery it's your postal service. So the best people to ask would be them in regards to small parcels and delivery attempts.

It really depends on how Amazon ships them, and the packaging they use. I have had 2 movie orders show up in padded envelopes, and I have also had 2 movie orders show up in bigger cardboard boxes with air bubble protection included. Obviously, the padded envelope would fit, the box would most likely not fit.

Check your account after your order ships and it will tell you the carrier the order shipped via, then you can leave a note to have UPS, FEDEX, or the USPS to either leave the package, or leave a claim slip at your apartment so you can go pick it up at their location after you get home, etc.

Is the packaging by Amazon usually slim enough to fit into mailboxes?

It depends if they are normal sized BD cases, if Amazon sends them in cardboard or not, and if they are sent UPS, USPS, etc.
If I'm not home UPS will generally leave a package at my apartment doorstep, but sometimes leave a notice that they attempted delivery and will try again the next day. USPS, the normal mail, will always leave a package in my mailbox if it can fit. If it cannot, the mail person will generally knock on my door and/or try again the next day. If you haven't seen the package in some weeks since its supposed delivery, check with your apt. complex's front office to see if they have it. If the delivery person can't fit it in your mailbox, he will either knock on your door with it or leave it in the office. In my experiences, anyway

I used to do that in my apartment and they couldn't fit in the mailbox, but my apartment had a deal with the postal service and ups/fed ex where if packages came, instead of leaving them in the hallway, they drop them off at the managers office. Check if that's the case for you

I buy all my blu-ray's from Amazon (Canada) and no, they wouldn't fit in a normal mailbox slot. Amazon usually drops them off at the front door, or they sometimes will use the oversize mail slot - the larger bottom left slot.

LOL, looking at the smashed open box. I guess someone really wanted in.

They used to give me the mailbox slot, but around Xmas, they stopped doing that and the delivery guy comes to the door, rings once and drops it at the door step and leaves!?

Luckily my wife is on Mat leave, because geez, I wonder how many people would walk by and see an Amazon box just sitting there for the taking.

Sometimes the postal service really has no brains.
