Default Callie Thorne is involved in some "Necessary Roughness"

NOTE: I searched the site for a thread about this, but nothing came up under "Necessary Roughness" or "Roughness". So if there's already one, just merge it, rather than complain. It's not my fault the search function is lame

Watching the premiere episode right now. Meh. I DO like Craig Bierko though.

Quote:
The series centers around a tough Long Island divorcee who, in order to make ends meet, gets a job as a therapist for a professional football team. Her career begins to take off when athletes, musicians, politicians and other celebrities start to request her tough love therapy. She must learn to balance her new career with being a single mother.

I'm about two thirds into it and I'm starting to like this a lot more. Fun show.

I watched the pilot because I liked Callie's work on Rescue Me over the years. But the pilot was enough for me. I've never liked that smug douche Bierko, and as with every single USA show i've ever encountered, I SHALL NOT PASS.............to further episodes....

The first 10-15 minutes I was like..meh. But then it kinda grew on me and got better. Typical USA Networks show.

No overdosing hookers or innocent kids being threatened with bombs, so you probably won't like it. lol.

And Bierko isn't in it that much I wouldn't imagine. He's the soon to be ex, so I don't think he's going to be a main character who's in half the show or anything.

No, but as with all USA shows it's about beautiful people who are amazing at everything they do. That's their formula, and it's not enough for me. If all I wanted was "overdosing hookers or innocent kids being threatened with bombs" I'm sure I'd be a Michael Bay fan, but I have never been, or ever will be a fan of hacks like that. Damn Gary, you'd think I claimed that the Crank "films" were the greatest creations of all time. Just because I don't like shows on your precious USA doesn't mean I don't enjoy quality programming, it actually means that I DO enjoy quality programming.

No, but you're a fan of more gritty stuff where everyone's an ******* and most are bad guys. That's what I meant by the joke of "overdosing hookers" and whatnot.

At least gritty is different, nothing has ever surprised me on USA EVER, my jaw will never hit the floor, I will never jump up and down angrily, I will say meh, and that's the extent of any emotion I feel towards anything they have and will ever program.

What's that one USA show where the main character loses his/her calling in life but gets a second chance to do good for a change, only in a different setting?

USA Network keeps trying to put the same show on the air, just using different actors in the roles. The real problem with their shows is they all adhere very strictly to keeping each episode self-contained, there is little serialization episode to episode or character growth. Story arcs only serve to act as framing devices around the tepid weekly writing.

White Collar is probably their best show, but even it shows the problem.

Yes that is a huge problem I have everything is stand alone. I only checked out the first episode because I liked Callie on Rescue Me and from all the previews I had thought this show was about her relationship with Mehcad Brooks (TK) but I quickly realize nope, he's just another case of the week and that was it. I need serialization in my hour longs, if I wanted random shit all the time I'd only watch sitcoms cause at least those amuse me and make me laugh. USA hours just make me groan in pain and want to stab my brain.

Saw the premiere last night, I thought it was pretty good. Always like Callie since her days on Homicide:Life on the Streets.
