Question Time to buy BR players

Hi

I am very new to this HD world.

I like the quality of BR player than HD. But not the price tags on them.

When I did some research, BR players at whole sale clubs seems to be cheaper (around $435.00) in average for model BDP-S301 and of-course eBay!!.

Question time.
Will BR player price is going to be cheaper in near future (may be in next 2-3 months)? And having thanks giving and Christmas/NY sale on the corner, will it be beneficial for me to wait on it till then.

Any inputs helping me to make my decision is appreciated.

Enjoy your clear picture and let other too...

Thanks Thanks Thanks...

I just got a new Samsung BD-P1400 ($415 amazon) and you can't discount the new audio codecs, they are AWESOME!!!! The PS3 can't do dts-ma right now and who knows when it might be able to! If you are a fan of high-res audio too, then I would get the new BD-P1400. I doubt it's price will fall as it's brand new

Except it can't output 5.1 analog. A stand alone player is what the industries are counting right now. The sale of BD stand alone players is the only thing they compare to HD-DVD player sales, so yes, get a good stand alone player.

I would disagree - I think all that matters is software sales. If 10k people buy PS3s and start voraciously building up Blu-ray libraries, that will definitely swing the war.

And 5.1 analog is a very dead-end technology in general. With HDMI taking over soon we won't even see amplifiers with 5.1 analog inputs, they never have space for more than one of those monstrosities. Within a year or two we won't be hearing anything about 5.1 analog inputs anymore (and good riddance).
