Hi there,
I'm looking forward to taking my first steps into the world of reel to reel recordings and I have some questions. 1. Firstly, what would a good starter deck be? I'm looking to spend $100 or so. From what I can tell, the Akai and Teac units seem to be the most popular. As I'm going for commercial tapes here (although I want to do some recording of my own) I'm looking to stay with the 3.75 and 7.5 ips tape speeds. 2. As my Klipsch Hersey speakers are not magnetically shielded, do I need to worry about keeping my R2R deck too close to them? My deck would be about 2 feet away from my speakers giving the arrangement I have now. Thanks in advance! |
