Freaky Lights! (ET visiting?)

On New Years Eve myself, my Girlfriend, her Son and Daughter in law all saw this light moving in the sky in a very erratic way. I posted about it in the "whats on your mind thread" the next day.
The evening of Jan 1, one of my Facebook friends posted about seeing this light do some stuff too. His town is 1000km's north of ours.
Tonight my Cousin is posting on FB about these lights too. His town is about 400KM's s.w. of ours.
I am going to copy/paste their comments along with any relevant replies below.

My Friend north of here on Jan 1:
Freaky lights floating out over the sky tonight on our way back across the lake, then come home and watch Apollo 18.....crazy ass shit man;

His G/F:
yeh it was weird there was quite a few lights ahead of us and then they disappeared and Ryan looked behind and there was something hovering close enough to the ice and we took off again and looked again and it was closer and all of a sudden it took off real fast till it appeared small enough. And we got to the house and past it and I looked again there is was again hovering and we turned around to get a clearer view and it dissapeared again. The colours were orange red and blue like it was flickering, and was round as well. And we were going to spend the night out there today, but no way now!

My Cousin tonight:
I cannot believe my eye's but there are six of us who have been watching these strange lights over Kakisa. It has moved many times in different speeds and sideways. We are recording it as well as looking through binoculars. I'm f**k'n freaked out!!! There are five different colors its changes too and now moving higher...gotta go we are doing more recording..have reported it to authorities..this is no joke!!

A few posts later then:
We are going to wait to see what the authorities want to do with our recording...but it does not do it justice of what we witness....planets and satellites don't move in the way we watched this object move..it was not stationary...one of those things where you have to see it to believe it...I'm glad to I got to see it...it has disappeared for now!

It was hanging around for two hours...before I went to see it the others watched it move from over the lake and than moved east to where I watched it over the town garage above the trees..than it went straight up and moved west between the garage and the lake..and now it is gone??

Me:
We saw them here in YK on New Years Eve. It was wild! Two nights later, a FB friend in Inuvik seen them. We've been talking about it because it's pretty f'n freaky for sure.

I don't know what to think or say about this. My G/F and I have chatted briefly about it, but now it's like...WOW!
I wonder why a visitor from somewhere else (if that's what it was) would would want to check us out up here for? It's very sparsely populated, maybe 45,000 or so. It's just wildlife, a zillion frozen lakes and a small number of people.
If you want, you could read my past posts and see that I am not crazy person or one who is prone to b.s. I jus think it's wild and wanted to share it here.

Maybe you People could look at the sky and see if you see anything.

We just checked out gf's video recording...freak me right out...there are three other lights floating around that we could not see with the naked eye and a ray or beam that is beaded with lights pointing down towards earth..I'm not kidding and wish I can post it!!! She wants to wait until tomorrow and see what the authorities have to say...when we do you'll think this is right out of a movie..we did not see these other lights but they appear in the video...unf**k'n believable I tell you!!

They posted it on Facebook yesterday. It is very uneventful and boring. Just a couple lights buzzing around that I can barely see.
I don't know how to post it here. Anyone know? It's not really worth it but I will if someone tells me how. Btw, I have a macbook.

What's the name of your town and state? And do you know if there is any history of crop circles in your area or near by?

Yellowknife, N.W.T., Canada.
There are no crops here. Just water, rock and trees. Gotta go further south for that.

I don't think so. We saw 'em on New Years Eve and my FB friends' description was close to what we saw.


Anything is possible but I was freaked for a few days afterward. I was seriously thinking they'd announce themselves and I was hoping in a friendly way.
Maybe I've got too much imagination...but at the same time, why wouldn't superior intelligence want to check us out?

Just out of curiosity, could it be Northern Lights/Aurora Borealis? I've never seen them myself (as I live in the Southern Hemisphere) so I could be way off base, but I've always heard them described as strange lights in the sky, and they usually occur way up North...

Not what he was describing.

My best guess is they could have been military craft testing over more remote areas. Most UFO's are in fact mistaken identity for top secret stealth unmanned military crafts. Look at what some of them look like below, look familiar?

The result is an ongoing source of UFO reports and conspiracy theories. Here are the Earth-built craft that likely have lit up 911 switchboards over the years.

1. RQ-3 Darkstar

Manufacturer: Lockheed Martin/Boeing First Test Flight: 1996 Deployment: None (it was canceled in 1999) Declassified: 1995 Size: 15 ft long; 69-ft wingspan Performance: 288 mph (cruising speed); 45,000+ ft (max. alt.) UFO Link: The official life span of this unmanned spy plane was brief and disappointing, with a crash and a program cancellation after just three years. But in 2003, Aviation Week reported that a similar stealth UAV was being used in Iraq--fueling speculation that the government scrapped the craft publicly only to secretly resurrect it for clandestine missions.

2. U-2

Manufacturer: Lockheed Martin First Test Flight: 1955 Deployment: 1957 to present Declassified: 1960 Size: 49 ft long; 80-ft wingspan Performance: 410 mph (max. speed); 85,000 ft (max. alt.) UFO Link: Designed for high-altitude reconnaissance, the U-2's long, gliderlike wings and silver color would have been notable to observers on the ground and in the sky. In the 1960s the airplane was painted black to avoid reflections. The U-2 is also famous for being among the first classified planes to be flown from the Air Force's secret test facility at Groom Lake, Nev.--aka Area 51.

3. SR-71 Blackbird

Manufacturer: Lockheed Martin First Test Flight: 1964 Deployment: 1966 to 1990, 1995 to 1998 Declassified: 1964 Size: 107 ft long; 56-ft wingspan Performance: 2432 mph (max. speed); 85,000 ft (max. alt.) UFO Link: The tailless spy plane has an even more unusual cross section than the U-2. This Area 51 alum was briefly reactivated in the 1990s, and rumors of a followup--the now-legendary Aurora project--have supplied both UFO believers and skeptics with a possible source of unexplained sightings.

4. P-791

Manufacturer: Lockheed Martin First Test Flight: 2006 Deployment: Unknown UFO Link: Plane spotters' photos and videos blew the top-secret cover off a 5-minute inaugural flight in Palmdale, Calif. The hybrid airship--it uses gas and a wing shape for lift--fuels speculation that classified airships quietly roam the night skies.

5. F-117A Nighthawk

Manufacturer: Lockheed Martin First Test Flight: 1981 Deployment: 1983 to 2008 Declassified: 1988 Size: 107 ft long; 56-ft wingspan UFO Link: This long-range stealth fighter, which could stay aloft indefinitely thanks to midair refueling, remained classified through much of the 1980s during test flights at Tonopah Test Field Range in Nevada, 80 miles from the legendary Area 51 Groom Lake facility. Along with the B-2 Spirit, the batlike F-117A was a perfect candidate for triangular UFO sightings.

6. B-2 Spirit

Manufacturer: Northrop Grumman First Test Flight: 1989 Deployment: 1997 to present Declassified: 1988 Size: 69 ft long; 172-ft wingspan UFO Link: Although the long-range bomber was never a true "black aircraft," since it was displayed to the public approximately eight months before its first flight, an airborne B-2 is a UFO report waiting to happen. It looks like an alien craft from nearly any angle and specifically like a flying saucer when viewed head-on or in profile.
