Default Whats a good DVD/Blu-ray software player for a PC?

I got a new HP PC and the HP DVD/Blu-ray software player it came with is pretty much junk. all it really does is just play the movies. My old PC I think came with WinDVD and it was a nice player and had a cool feature to let you take screen caps from the movie. What player do you all recommened? A free one would be a plus.

You won't find any free ones blu video playback is proprietary.

Your best options in my opinion is

Arcsoft TotalMedia Theatre 3 Platinum (My personal recommendation)

On my PC I've always used PowerDVD or VLC. I'm not sure if VLC supports Blu-ray, I would assume it does.

This!

I've tried the other big players and this is the only one thus far that had zero issues.
