Default Acclaimed/Cult Catalogue films you've just recently seen for the first time

I'm in my mid twenties and try to catch up on any acclaimed cinema I was deprived of while growing up. In the past 2 years I've become a huge fan of Quentin Tarantino's films and had only seen "Death Proof" and "Inglourious Basterds". I blind bought "Reservoir Dogs" a couple of years back, and blind bought "Pulp Fiction" on release day. I loved those two and they led me to blind buy "Kill Bill: V1 & V2"; now I love and own every one of his full-length directorial efforts other than "Jackie Brown", which I would call my least-favorite of his movies.

I'm curious to see what Acclaimed or Cult Catalogue films other members have just recently seen for the first time ever, and what their reaction was?

Here's a list of the "Classic/Acclaimed/Cult" films I've just recently seen for the first time ever (All are now in my collection, except "Jackie Brown" and "Blade Runner", I'm just waiting for the right prices at the right time.):

Blade Runner
Edward Scissorhands
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial
The Evil Dead (1981)
The Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn
Following
The Game
Impostor
Jackie Brown
Kill Bill: V1 & V2
Layer Cake
Leon: The Professional
The Princess Bride
Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
The Road to Perdition
Se7en
Zodiac

And they are all recommended with the exception of Casino, Choke, A History of Violence, Shallow Grave.

You might also want to be wary of Antichrist, Eraserhead and Night and Fog. Same goes for Buckaroo Banzai but for different reasons.

Everyone I know loves A History of Violence, and it just did absolutely nothing for me. Nothing. I watched it, I shrugged, I will never watch it again.

Last one I saw that would qualify is Quadrophenia. Seems like a fairly acclaimed cult film of sorts. Unfortunately, even though it has cool music and fine-looking locales, the plot didn't do much for me.

My coworker keeps watching youtube clips of that one. She can't stop laughing at it. I might have to check the movie out to see what's so darn funny.

Agreed, the opening scene was terrific, but the rest of the film just lacked any sort of subtlety and ended to be really silly instead of an interesting thriller.

Brazil is great, but it's just tough to follow as it seems to be going in a million different directions at once.
