Being a Neil Marshall fan, I'm looking forward to this. But I notice on IMDB there is a 130min cut of it in Finland, oddly enough.

The BBFC isn't listing an extended version though.

Is there a release date for this? I know writer/actress Axelle Carolyn, who's in this film, and have heard a bit about if during the production. Looks like a great movie, sadly overshadowed by Iron Man 2 during it's release, it vanished pretty quicky. Sadly I ended up missing it during it's theatrical run due to work commitmments.

I missed this in the cinema because by the time I found out about it, they were only showing it for a few more days and none of them I could find the time to go to.

I may not get it immediately, but once I have some spare change, then I'll get it.

a lot didn't. It didn't get any publicity either, which didn't help. It's going become a 'forgotten film' that slipped by a lot of people. ALl on account of Iron Man2. THey should have waited for a better time to release.
Maybe Stateside theatrical release will get a better treatment.

I"ll buy it - but seeing Finland got a 130 min cut makes me hanker for that...

Marshall is a great movie maker.

Hi,

I think the 130 Version doesn't exist. It is only mentioned on imdb. According to a discussion on imdb this information was listed on imdb before the shooting of the movie had been finished.

Doomsday was quite a risk for a director with only 2 films and lots of tribute to mainstream films people knew where they could shout "rip-off!!"

You see, you can get away with homage all the time (or even be considered god or even original) when youre referencing to B-movies, euro-kult, euro-trash (Rodriguez, Tarantino), but with Doomsday, I guess only few people liked it.

Neil Marshall sure is talented, shame this wasnt given proper treatment in cinemas. Hope it'll become a small hit here in US as a limited release.

I loved Doomsday. I'd hardly call it a ripoff of anything. And please, don't anyone say any of the Mad Max films. It had more in common with Sleepless with Seattle.

Just watched is last night here in the USA on VOD. Pretty cool film, some visually stunning cinematography, Fassbender and Olga are both terrific as you might expect. Running time approx 97 minutes, it will be released on blu via Magnolia in the US.

Not yet, but Centurion is part of the Six Shooter Series from Magnolia, all of which are being released on BD after VOD/limited theater runs.

Mine arrived today, not watched it but had a look at a few scenes, picture looks solid if unremarkable. Didn't see any DNR (it has mild grain) or edge enhancement but there was some banding in the opening logos and first shot. Detail isn't stunning and it's not razor sharp. Also quite contrasty but I assume that's the director's intention (the film didn't trouble a cinema near me so haven't seen it theatrically). Not demo material, but pretty good. Extras are fairly standard (commentary, 30 min making of, deleted scenes).

I want a viewing before a purchase. Being reminded of Doomsday scares me away.
