I think that non-steelbook version is actually a steelcase. Looks identical to other recent australian steelcases.

Yes, indeed.

But i think that this version will be metal slipcase:

So, "regular" triple play with steelcase (not SteelBook) and collector's triple play with SteelBook, calendar and book. But that's just my guess.

I think it is highly unlikely of the studio to release two separate packaging so the normal release is likely to be same steelbook as that of the collector's edition.

For example, recently there was a Apocalypse Now Metal Slipcase, the collector edition of this release also contains the same metal slipcase.

I hope that this is the case, i.e. that both editions are Steelbooks. I've ordered this from EzyDVD.

Does anyone know if JB HIFI Aus are customs friendly, do they mark the outside of the package with the actual price of the goods?

I can confirm with you guys this is a 'Viva Metal Box' (same as the Australian Tron Legacy that was released a week or so ago) not a steelbook!
I must say it's a very nice addition to anyones collection, the metal box is just gorgeous, love the extra goodies included in the set as well, apart from that I can tell you the cover is embossed!
Some pictures for you guys:

Enjoy!

I like it, regardless of the make of case. I will be betting the regular Metal Box version though.

I really want this but at that price with $22 P&P then it's over £51 imported to the UK with 20% VAT and the £8 Post Office fee.

Could some friendly person tell me how they label their parcels, do they put the goods price on the label, can they mark them as gift?

no they don't mark them as gift unfortunately!
also theres a bit of weight on that set because it has a book & a calendar so $22 isn't too bad

This is going for $NZ39.99 (Metal Box only.. not extra stuff) at The Warehouse according to the site, if any NZers are here.

, I'm not bothered about the postage cost, after importing something over £15 for the actual item(s) cost being in the UK means paying 20% VAT on the item and the postage - then our post office keep it until the VAT and their £8 fee is paid

Thanks for the pictures. Is this the same type of packaging released by Disney US recently for Lion King, and also Canadian FS release of Bambi??
