So you're saying that people think the movies are better than they actually are or that their transfers are overrated? Extrapolation is needed in your OP.

I believe he is saying that the transfers are underrated. Or, to clarify, that the need to upgrade the transfers, because of some deficiency in previous transfers, is overrated.

There is no such thing as "overrated."

[Show spoiler]Here we go again!

^ These very definitely need new transfers.

28 Day Later might be one that actually gets a lot of shit but shouldn't.

I immediately understood the title and what he's talking about. Some people think the movies he listed have sub-par transfers and need new ones, but in the OP's eyes, those movies don't need new transfers...then again, maybe I'm wrong?

Hannibal is the most tolerable of the lot, that movie is never going to look great on BD because of how they shot the film. The other transfers are not very good and all could be massively improved with existing technology.

I've never understood why some people seem to be on a crusade for mediocrity.

Maybe they're reviewers for this site, High Def Digest or AVS Forum.

Some people are just not discriminating enough to realize the differences between a top-notch transfer and an inferior one.

That's one possibility. Another is that some people see shades of gray between black and white.

People do sometimes go a little goofy slamming this transfer or that. I'm holding out for an eventual Patton remaster but the current release really isn't as bad as the conventional wisdom makes it out to be.

Technically you are right.

Nothing is wrong with Batman Begins.

The 2008 Predator disc is fine, as is Universal's UK edition of Hannibal.
your only error is T2.

T2's Japanese disc is the sky net transfer without the DNR pass.

Mind you I am giving you the benefit of the doubt by assuming I came to the same conclusions as I did.

Exactly. I was hoping people would add to the list, but I guess nobody wants to contribute.

And some people are quite happy that they are not as picky as some people from Metropolis seem to be.

Yep, I would have bought it already if it wasn't. The same goes for the Japanese versions of Band of Brothers and Equilibrium.

I am just curious as to how another country could have a better BD transfer than then country the movie originated from? And out of curiosity exactly how is the Japanese B.O.B. transfer better?

.....thanks
