Default Has this ever happened to anyone?

Over the weekend, I stopped into my local record store. The store sells mostly used vinyl, however they do order in a lot of new indie stuff (to be honest, I'm not a fan of the genre currently called "indie" music).

Occasionally they get deals if they order a handful of records from a specific label, so once a month or so, you'll go in and see tons of new, sealed stuff, mostly from one label or one artist..

Anyways, this weekend I went in and they had obviously gotten some kind of deal with SSL's distro, as they had tons of sealed Husker Du. Most of the LPs I recognized as being recent reissues, but I picked up a 10" combining 2 7" releases (2 songs per side).

It was sealed, $8.99 and had been reissued some time in the past 3-4 years, so I was quite certain that I was getting the reissue on black vinyl.

Went to throw it on the TT when I got home, and I found it was purple/marble vinyl, some research indicated that this was a reissue from 1991 that didn't sell particularly well.

Presumably the Toronto distro had some leftover sealed stock from the early 90's and is sending these out instead of/along with the reissues.

Pretty cool! If I were specifically looking for this particular pressing, I don't think it would be too easy to find.

Any similar stories?
