I have a $400 gift certificate for Best Buy. They currently have a Panasonic 10AK on sale (open box) for $450.
I am currently using a BD-P1000 for playback. I really want analog 7.1 out. I know that newer player are coming but none of the players I see in the pipe have 7.1 out and my Harman Kardon AVR-645 wont (according to people over at AVS) do 7.1 over HDMI. It does have 7.1 analog in. Question of the day: do I pull the trigger? Is this other player going to be a significant improvement over my current BD-P1000? I did notice some skipping during Silver Surfer. I just want something that works. Sorry for the "shitty" topic....I know, I know...But I almost pulled the trigger on a A30 but I could not bring myself to do it. Analog 7.1 is the most important thing for me right now. OT: Can I take the drive out of my BD-P1000 and pop it into a HTPC? Thanks. |

God I love my Panny!!! It's played everything I've thrown at it flawlessly. Even when people were discussing it having issues with LOTR extended dvds, I went out and bought them movies and not one issue. Oh and the sound it puts out will knock ur socks off. I have the 7 analogs out to my pioneer receiver with a supercube II sub. Everytime I put on a movie, whether it's a blu-ray or dvd, I smile from ear to ear. Fantastic four had me giggling like a school girl in bed whilest I was "pretending" my wife was Jessica Alba!!! LMAO... Shhhhh. don't tell her I said that. good thing she doesnt come to this board!

![]() I'm looking at its BBY inventory page right now and it has an in-stock date of 10-14-07. That means within two weeks it should be available. Patranus, I'd recommend you wait for this player. I'm sure it will be superior in many ways to the DMP-BD10AK. |

The 30 is truely the best kept secret in HDM right now. The only mention of it is on the rebate form. I have been trying to find specs on it for over a week and they are just not there. Pana is being very tight lipped about this one. Since the 10's now have 5 discs in them to blow them out. I suspect one of the reasons for the hush hush on these is that they are 1.1 ready. And since they only have the one model if they can sell them out before release then they have no worries about them sitting on shelves.

It's listed on Circuit City's site, but still with limited details.

The Pana DMP-BD10 has 7.1 analog out.
Right out of the Manual: "This unit comes equipped with a Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD decoder. When connected to a compatible amplifier/receiver via the HDMI AV OUT or 7.1ch AUDIO OUT terminals, you can enjoy surround sound recorded with Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD. Were you anticipating something else? |
