I was just looking at the european website for playstation 3 and from what I can tell is three things.
1) The USB ports are all in the front. 2) The dual shock controller only has 4 lights so either the 7 controller idea has been scrapped or Sony will do a last minute change prior to launch. 3) There are no memory card slots on the console, so we'll use some kind of an internal attachment with a USB cable on it. If anyone else thinks otherwise, you'll have to show me with a crystal clear photograph. The pictures on the site were very clear. A lot better then on Google. |

If what I'm saying about the internal attachment is true, then it's possible that we could copy the contents of a memory card to the hard drive and load up our file from the hard drive.

But will there be a USB adaptor for existing memory cards to connect? Otherwise how do you play your existing PS1 & 2 games? Start all over... yikes!
The USB's are on the front because there you can use the controllers "wired" via standard USB cables. This also charges them. I'm assuming you could wire up your pads overnight and with the PS3 on standby the pads will be charged up ready for the next day? |

I agree. There will be some kind of adapter to use for memory cards because there are no slots in the back for a memory card unless Sony does a last minute change prior to launch but it seemed like the console was pretty much in final form. I'm wondering how long the USB cables will be? I would assume that you'll get a USB cable with every controller although you may have to buy them seperatly. The other thing that I want to know is most things that can run off a battery have an on/off switch so that you can turn off the device if you want to save power. I'm wondering if the ps3 controller will have an on/off switch on it. Other then the controller, the memory card adapter, and the online network, I don't believe Sony has any other lose ends to tie up prior to launch.
