If this is a decent price I'll pick it up day one, if it's the usual Paramount price I'll wait three years for the price to come down....

It's the same three-episode sampler disc that the US and Germany are getting, so expect it to be GBP 15.99 at Amazon.co.uk.

Yeah, not buying this 'sampler' disc. They know people will buy the full season sets, so they are just trying to milk it a little before the initial release.

15.99? That's a little steep, I know it's ST:TNG but it would have been cool for a more varied selection. Maybe they should have started off like those DVD sets like the Borg, Q and Captain's choice boxsets. A real showcase for the franchise (I hate that term).

Its worth remembering that these episodes were not picked specifically for the BD but where test episodes chosen to demonstrate how good the show could look in HD, the BD is an after thought and is being released to wet the fans appetites as the season sets will be along way off.

I just hope they don't use the sampler as an indication on whether or not to proceed with remastering whole seasons as it seems the majority on here are not going to buy it.

I think had they released those (which are almost 'TNG: Greatest Hits' type things) then it would have lowered sales for the season sets because most of the best eps would already be out there.

I think I'm going to get this as I want to see how it will look, but I won't buy the season sets until they're all out in one big boxset.

Those sets were a mixture from all the series though, if they released a teaser with TNG, DS9, Voyager and even Enterprise it really would get fans looking forward to some HD Star Trek.

I was following the US thread but I can't remember what the episodes were, have they been confirmed?

I still haven't picked up Star Trek : Tos Seasons 2 and 3 as they just refuse to drop in price...

The 1st Season dropped to £35 2 years ago and I loved the remastering but damn I guess as the price ain't dropping it must mean it's one of those blu-rays new blu-ray owners are going for..

However personally I'm looking forward to deep Space 9 (hopefully if TNG sells well of course).

Encounter at Farpoint
Sins of the Father
The Inner Light

The trailer on the Star Trek.com site has been updated to show remastered footage from each episode, can't wait

Did you ever think about importing the US releases as they are about £30 each.

Will be interesting to see from the sampler disc whether they've decided to DNR the crap out of the series.

The scenes in the trailer looked pretty damn good to meet.

At the moment it looks like HMV will only be charging £6.99 for the sampler.

Not a bad price at all. I'd get it.
