Default Wish Lilo & Stitch was on Blu!

Don't understand Disney, first the Mary Poppins 45th Ann.(basicaly it's 40th Ann. with some new stuff about the musical, that's all,I got my 40th Ann for pracatically free whe I joined the Disney Movie Club!) No Blu Ray of Mary Poppins, boo, just another DVD rehash with a wee bit of new not so interesting material,it also looks like theyve done the same w/ Lilo and Stitch today with a new 2 DVD set will a few more extras,I thoght about buying but no sale,I'm sticking w/ my THX certified anamorphic single DVD original release(which I also got from the Club for virtually nothing!),it's anamorphic and and has a pretty nice array of extras, anybody reading this feel the same way I do! I'll wait for the Blu's of Poppins and Stitch!

I've waited years for the 2 disc special edition for Lilo & Stitch. It was supposed to come out a couple months after the original and never came. Now I'll be waiting longer because I don't buy dvds any more.
Lilo & Stitch should come to blu-ray sooner than later. It would give this wonderful movie a little bounce.

Not a big fan of Lilo & Stich, find the movies boring and not that well done. My wife love them however so I would pick them up on BD if they became available.

I hope we don't have to wait to long for it. Lilo & Stitch is a good movie, but I just never got around to buying the DVD and now I never will since I don't buy DVD's anymore.

I ask that question every day. And will continue to until it does come on Blu-ray, which will hopefully be sometime in 2012 for the film's 10th anniversary. I'll also hope it gets a perfect transfer, I know it's a much newer film but what I've heard about The Fox and the Hound's transfer has got me a little worried about how Disney will treat the rest of its classics that aren't part of the Diamond Edition range.

The difference is that from Beauty and the Beast onwards, every Disney animated movie was completed digitally. Just using the digital master for the Blu-ray won't require the time and effort it takes to scan the film, do some clean-up, etc. So Lilo & Stitch will definitely look better, unless Disney really screws up. Also, L&S is one of the more popular recent Disney movies, so I'm sure the release won't be that far off.

Tired of waiting, I bought the Big Wave Edition to hold me over. Maybe they're waiting for 10th anniversary next year.

This is my second favorite Disney film, animated or live-action, and in my top 5 movies in general. I will own this the nanosecond it is available. Right below Tarzan on my priority list.

The problem is that Disney is abusing the monopoly it's bribed Congress to grant it.

Copyrights were intended to last for 28 years, and that's how long they lasted through most of American history. This allowed artists to have a monopoly income on their creation for a reasonable time, but then end the censorship of their ideas, allowing them to be shared and built upon by the public.

The original timespan was 14 years, if the author chose to register, and then 14 more years IF the artist was still alive AND chose to re-register. Most people didn't bother registering, and very few did so a second time.

But Disney has, repeatedly, bribed (aka "lobbied") Congress to extend their monopoly, until it's now the entire lifespan of an artist, plus 70 years.

This robs the entire society of their own culture, censoring ideas and art, granting a monopoly that can easily end up lasting 150 years.

And Disney is one of the worst abusers of this, actually refusing to publish copies of their own works in order to use their monopoly to artificially inflate prices.

It's disgusting, and obscene. I generally only buy Disney products secondhand, to keep as much money out of their monopolistic hands as possible.
