AMC has confirmed that it is in "active development" of a new Walking Dead spinoff series, which will be the third show in the franchise, alongside the main The Walking Dead series and Fear The Walking Dead. The announcement was made during AMC Networks' quarterly earnings call with Wall Street analysts.

“We’re not at a stage where we’ll be announcing its plans to premiere,” Carroll said. “But we have hired creative people that have pitched story outlines. We feel very good about the development of that series. We’re not in a position to talk about partnerships in terms of other territories or ancillary windows, other than that there’s a healthy appetite for it and we’ve had a number of conversations with a lot of players in the space.”

Here's my idea: a prequel series set ~10 years before the events of TWD called "Before the Walking Dead." All of your favorite characters would appear, but they'd be younger and doing regular things like going to college or working at Walmart and there wouldn't be any zombies. The main storyline in Season 1 would focus on Rick meeting Lori, and the show would tease Carl's conception for about 4 seasons. Other highlights of the show could be young Noah having issues with revolving doors and Glenn's knack for hiding under garbage dumpsters to avoid certain death.

I would have to assume that FTWD will end before this new show starts. They'll probably take the characters left on FTWD and put them on TWD and/or the movies.

They already did kill FTWD last season by bringing Morgan and killing off most of the original cast members which did piss me off. But what was more annoying that they just kept on centering the story on Morgan as if he is some sort of "FAN SERVICE" and that is the only reason FTWD is watched for.


If only there was a way we could just get back and continue off when the dam was blown than continue the story from there with the bikers who to take control truly the time jump is off for me even though all TWD seasons are just in 1 year the timing when Rick woke up from the hospital the dead were already decomposed but in FTWD it gets confusing how they connected the timeline where the dead finally look decomposed.
