Dantes Inferno 2?

Dante's Inferno 2 teased by writer Joshua Rubin. Josh has posted on his resume that he is "the sole writer for a Major Unannounced Sequel from Visceral Studios at EA Games."

Rubin has written two games for Electronic Arts: Dante's Inferno and the Dead Space games. Rubin then added a rather obvious "hint" by linking the television ad below, leaving no doubt as to what sequel he'd penned.

Dantes Inferno was well recieved on the 360 and sold even more copies on the PS3, yet was somewhat 'steamrollered' by the juggernaut that was God Of War 3 that came out a mere 1 month later. The US got a PS3 'Divine Edition' with GAME stores UK getting the Death Edition featuring exclusive packaging and similar content.

So it looks like the cliffhanger ending to the original game will be resolved after all. With the original game based on The Divine Comedy with 3 'books' making up it's whole (Inferno, Purgatory and Paradise) will it be Dantes Purgatory: Inferno 2 or just Inferno 2? I for one can't wait as i thought the first came was rock solid!

Release Date: 1 month before the next God of War or major hack and slash title.

Which is why Inferno got steamrollered by God Of War 3. Something tells me that it would have been a wiser decision to release Inferno 1 before GoW3, perhaps around Xmas time to give sales (at least on the PS3) a chance.

Having said that, i'm fine with the game engine they will be using, (720p @ 60fps) as long as some of the textures get polished. Bring it on!
