Default TV Commercials

this evening, I sat on my couch and saw this TV commercial on "Surfs up" HD DVD for tomorrow release date. I thought, why does TV commercials show HD DVD and I do not see any Blu-Ray on TV commercials. Except upcoming discs commerical on the Blu ray disc.. Why doesnt Blu-ray discs has not shown on TV commercials? It made me curious because people are watching tv and recongize theres HD DVD instead... I feel that if Blu ray are shown on TV and people will acknowledge that theres other format (which is much better).

I have seen the Surf's Up commercial in Boomerang and in the Disney Channel. They have mentioned "coming to DVD and Hi Def Blu-ray" everytime I have seen it.

Surf's up is Sony ... I doubt it would be advertised as an HDDVD... it should be exclusive

...but...Surf's Up is a Sony release and only on blu-ray...so why would a commercial put HD-DVD on that...

Stange...you probably saw the "hi-definition blu-ray disc" part and wasn't paying full attention or something, hehe

I wish you had too. Then I wouldn't have had to read this thread and feel sad at your public embarassment.

However, this thread did remind me of the Blu-ray commercial I saw last night.

When it started up I was cleaning up the kitchen or something, *and* while the tv was on, I was listening to cds so I had to go scrambling for remotes like a madman. That being the case I didn't see the whole thing and can't give a very detailed description but it was a Disney ad specifically for the BDs of Ratatouille, Cars & POTC: AWE.

It seemed kinda long and not knowing how much of the beginning I missed I'm thinking it might have been a 60 sec spot. It was on MHD channel last night during the a show with some country artists.

I have seen it on cartoon network advertising on DVD and PSP. Could that be what you saw. I have never seen one with HD DVD, because it isn't coming out one HD DVD. Just take a look at Amazon.
