United Kingdom Tenet (2020)

So I was going to finally go and see Tenet before lockdown, but decided I might wait 'til lockdown finishes and see it with friends rather than rush it (and get the best seats, go to the best cinema for it etc).

But then I've just seen a listing on Amazon for the Blu-ray out mid-December...so I'm tempted. I guess they want to try and make as much as they can on it whatever the format, and there isn't much else out in term of new releases! Looks like it's 2 discs like Dunkirk, presumably with extras on the second disc.

Probably the best way to watch this is at home with the volume lower than usual and the subtitles on :P

Yes, certainly want to watch it again where I stand a chance of hearing or reading what they are talking about.

Saw it in IMAX on release and it was, intentionally I presume, like sitting on the runway at Heathrow while a procession of 767s take off every 10 minutes for 2 and a half hours. Couldn't hear anything after I left the cinema for the rest of the day.

I'm certain that is a great movie in there just struggling to get out from under all the noise. And waiting for me to actually understand it

I wonder if the 4K will be on the WB Shop UK.

Nice been waiting for an announcement. I was wanting to check it out again at the cinema but couldn’t really justify the second trip out, so I’m looking forward to it.

There will be a 4K edition added to Amazon's listing for sure. A Christopher Nolan film will not come out without a UHD release.

Hopefully uncut as well. For theaters it was cut by 9 seconds.

Almost certain it will be the cut version shown in cinemas. Nolan isn't going to want the '15' rating for home media release or streaming.

15 rated. I'm thinking the opposite way here.

That image is wrong, it's a 12. I have the UK version sitting on my shelf currently.

I checked my copy as well. All 12 indeed. Uploaded new covers and the digital download is no longer included as well.

I actually found the costuming in this film distracting. The characters are so immaculately dressed, I feel a distance from them in terms of class and relatability. They’re models rather than characters.

I think all of the actors are better served in other films. If you’re after a Michael Caine complete collection, there’s about as much reason to get this as Dunkirk.

WB shouldn’t have listened to Nolan’s demands and waited until 2021. This film has become the industry sacrificial lamb it doesn’t need to be.

Michael Caine is only really a cameo in it. Not every script is going to have a large role for a now 87 year old actor.

As I've said in numerous threads, whilst there is certainly hope 2021 might be a bit better, it's far from a given.

Really didn't care for this film. Had to look at the Wikipedia plot section as I had no idea what was going on and even considered just walking out several times. I stuck it out but still felt like I had wasted two hours of my life. Definite no buy from me, I'll wait until it appears on streaming services should I ever want to torture myself with a second viewing hoping it makes more sense second time around.

Was wondering when a home video release would see the light of day. Definitely looking forward to watching this again.

There was a sweet spot in August when the cinemas were open, begging for content. And with 2021 unlikely to get back to prepandemic status, I bet some of them were wishing they released their films then.
