Hope they have access to more of the Universal Hammer catalogue!

The prices are a bit strange. £16.79 for Evil Of Frankenstein (79?) &...£25.49 for Brides Of Dracula! Early days, I'm sure those prices will sort themselves out. £12 tops for me, meanwhile the Universal DVD's look very good...& not at all cold

What is with the insane prices on these latest Hammer discs? Dracula hasn't dropped below £17, and these other two are £17 and (ulp!) £25! The SC releases were all roughly £13. Oh well, at least the line isn't dead, although I may be waiting a while to buy these.

They've been added to the database as Studio Canal but they're actually from Final Cut Entertainment, who've previously released a couple of the other Universal Hammers on DVD. Unknown quantity on BD so here's hoping they do a good job.

This is excellent news. Will Hammer be involved in the restoration / transfer?

I'd expect a Lawrence Of Arabia level of restoration for those prices!

I haven't really heard much. They released Curse of the Werewolf and Kiss of the Vampire but everyone I know already had them on the Universal set.

They also released House of the Long Shadows on DVD which seems to be close to the german BD by all accounts.

What matters is a quality edition - I can always wait till a price drop. But if they botch it, no price drop can make it worthwhile.

I seriously doubt the prices will stay that high for much longer. It'll probably level off at around the £16 mark, like the recent Dracula did.

Even if they stay that high, you can always cancel your pre-orders if you don't want to pay that much, which is what I'll be doing if it stays at the pretty ridiculous £25 it is now.

Likewise, I will take the wait for the review approach on these.

They can't be as bad as the UK fullscreen DVDs. Surely those prices are wrong?
Defo getting Brides if it comes down to £15. Hoping for some good artwork too.
It's also worth remembering that they released Curse Of The Werewolf as a DVD steelbook, so hopefully these will get the same treatment.

Never cared for the actor who played the vamp in this one.

But it's one of the best looking films in the Hammer Horror franchise.

Not to mention, the bad assery of Sir Peter Cushing.

These have been confirmed for release, with thanks to Squire Hamilton for the effort and news. Extras are planned, and those prices aren't correct. Masters have been delivered by Universal, yet to be checked for quality. News to come...

Great news!
I know Eureka released 'Paranoiac' on blu ray in the UK 2 years ago (very good it is too) but let's hope for Curse of the Werewolf as well.

They've started to come down, both are now £16.79.
