Bought a PS3 before the 5 free BD Deal... - Blu-ray Forum

How do I get mine? I don't know about you guys but I feel a little left out. I bought my PS3 before the first 5 free deal. Any help for us early adopters who paid full price for a 60gb PS3?

If you do a search "something" might come up, as long as you have the "box". Hint

You're not alone. I bought PS3 twice.
the first was japanese version - december 2006. No freebies whatsoever. I paid approx $1040, but I registered PSN account in EU and received casino royale
second (yet to be received) will be UK version - october 2007. No free movies.

This is my response on another thread...but the answer is there:

I bought my PS3 in April before the original offer. I was really mad that I couldn't get the 5 free blu-rays...but then I did try this.

I went to Target, bought a PS3...brought it back the next day and had them just credit the amount back to my card. I got to keep the original receipt and nothing got marked on it. I sent in the receipt with the UPC from my PS3 that I bought in April and I am currently "In Process" on the blu-ray offer tracking site. I also called them and they said that I am in the "ready to ship" phase.

So yes...it looks like this will work.

P.S. Just remember to get the same version as the one you already bought (60gig)

Were you one of those people, that got a present on their siblings birthday, so you wouldn't feel left out? Sometimes people getter better deals, that is life. So when I bought my first ps2, I paid $300, now it is $129. Do I fell that I got ripped off? No I don't, I was just excited about playing. And the think that really ticks me off about the whining about not getting the free movie offer, is that alot of people won't even keep the discs, they will go exchange them at Walmart or best buy for something different

I don't want to be judgmental, but I hope that there is not too much of this type of dishonesty (fraud?) going on. Perhaps the likelihood of some folks trying to get a rebate to which they are not entitled is the reason it takes so long to actually get the 5 videos. Maybe they wait a period of time and then confirm that the product on the receipt has NOT been returned. There are ways to do this.

I'm just saying what about those that bought their PS3's before the deals shouldn't we get some kind of break? I bought mine before the 1st deal, before any price drops. And no never had to get a present on a sibling’s birthday because I've never celebrated my birthday (religious reasons) and not looking to cheat the system either just would like some king of deal for the ones that bought before all the current deals.

Believe me, I understand. I bought two PS3s last December for members of my family -- at $599 a pop. No free videos (other than Talledega Nights) or games. So I am a little envious of the folks who get these great buys now. But not too envious; mostly I just feel happy for them and am glad to see them join the Blu brotherhood/sisterhood.

I've thought about how easy it would be to get it done with some shady business too, and I still have my original box. It's disappointing, but oh well.

Besides, I bought the 20Gig model and I'd have a heck of a time discovering a recent receipt for one to match my UPC code. Anyway, I had gotten Talladega Nights back then and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.

Bought mine in December. No regrets, I got to play mine longer than most others. Got the PSN ID that I wanted to. MEGA_DEATH See, anyone buying one now cant have my ID. That was worth $400 to me.??
