Steelbook question

Hi

Can anyone help and answer a couple of questions.

I’ve never imported a US steelbook before. I have imported standard and am aware of the silly slim spines.

a. Could someone confirm the US SBs are same size as UK or are they also slim.

b. The SB I’m looking at buying is Goodfellas... Anyone rate the PQ/AQ over the 2disc DVD ? I still enjoy DVDs on an upscalling player, I have many DVDs which are not available on Blu, so no need to comment on Blu being better than DVD please, just would like to know if this title is really worth the upgrade etc.

The spines will be the same as the UK ones 14mm as on picture quality etc not to sure

So youre probably looking at the Canadian steelbook right? Choose the cheapest shipping option (you'll get it quick anyway) and get ready to make a complaint when you do get it (it will probably be damaged as they dont package them well).

Been thinking about it myself but Im probably going to wait and hope for a re-release of Goodfellas because it needs one (lossy 5.1 soundtrack in case you didnt know).

Oh yeah - its Warner's 90th anniversary next year so I wouldnt be that surprised to see a re-release next year.

You are 1000 percent right. Almost 2 out of 3 from Amazon.ca are damaged. I have received 3 Pan's labyrinth and have just accepted I will never get a clean copy. I literally have a ding or dent on the following 2001 a space odyssey, full metal jacket, blow(replaced for clean copy), Batman, sucker punch, goodfellas and it took 3 tries for a clean history of violence. The only worse condition steels from Canada are from InetVideo. Man they truly suck. LOL As for the original question, Goodfellas looks amazing on blu and I agree with need lossless sound but it's a very noticeable upgrade for me and one of my favorite films.
