Default Spl meter

hi im just wondering what is the best spl meter for iphone and do they work.ive been trying to buy a spl meter all day but cannot get one cheap enough and i have someone coming over tonight to set up my speakers

I do not have any experience with SPL meters for iPhone. I do not own an iPhone. However, I have heard that the following works.

You can calibrate your audio system yourself. You don't need somebody else. Read the following thread:

I use the Audio Tool app for android and it works great. There are decent SPL apps available for iOS but the android AudioTool is best (it cost $6.99 - kinda expensive for an app but for what it does, its a steal). Theres also a calibration mic that you can buy for Android and iOS products.

Yes Frank, that one does work. It will do the job. Heres the Android one that I use https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...udioTool&hl=en

That's one of the best apps I've purchased.

The iphones Mic is not very good,much better idea to get a db meter.

True...someone is making an add-on mic for handhelds now. I'll find out the companies name tomorrow.

thanks everyone.ive gone and bought a proper spl meter and just waiting for it to be delivered.i have read all of big daddy's thread and im sure i can do it myself so ill give it a go
