United Kingdom Universal 100th Ann Steelies - Quartersteels/no artwork?

According to a thread over at bluraysteelbook site:

Thanks to Wreck we have now found out that the steels will feature LANDSCAPE ART and NO INSIDE ART, with the possibility of having no back art either (to be confirmed).

To be perfectly honest I'm really not too bothered if this is the case, I can easily do my own artwork and I quite like the Waterworld Quartersteel so not a problem for me!

Thanks for the info. If this is true, I will give this a pass. Although Casino is the only one that I am interested in. Wasn't the German wave horizontal with no back and inside artwork?

What's a 'quartersteel'?

I don't own any horizontal ones at the moment but I can't say i'm too bothered if these do turn out that way. As long as there's no printed banners or logos, i'll be happy. I'm more disappointed that they won't be having inside art or back art. Still I'd rather have an average looking steel than an amaray.

I expected this to be bad but it's turning out to be worse. Thanks to Universal for saving my $$.

Well if true its not to bad. Would prefer to have some inside artwork but not the end of the world, hey might even mean their a bit cheaper.

first of all, it there's no inside art = no buy...

the other thing is: don't see the point why they make them horizontally. the artwork is the usual (german wave used the original artworks) which works on a vertical steelbook, so no need to be horizontal...

anything that makes em different to the Universal german 100th anniversary wave(s) would be welcome I´d say (like nice inside artwork.. haha)

So basically, rumor has it that they are going to be steelbooks, similar in layout to the Fast Five UK steelbook?

Lame!

Fast Five got a nice design in my opinion with clean artwork both outside and inside. Not fair comparing it Vs. printed ones with no inside artwork.

I was looking forward to these releases, and didn't mind if the inside "artwork" was like the German ones (I can insert my own inside art), but landscape design has totally ruined it for me. Who comes up with these ridiculous decisions?

Really disappointed.

Sometimes I think industries don't give a sh!t about what their customers want.

If I were making steelbooks i'd come to places like this and actually get some feedback instead of making retarded mistakes all the time. Its not only steelbooks either, sometimes its games companies or movie companies as well.

If anyone is reading this thread upstairs, get a life, start from scratch and give us something worth buying. Or at least get us excited.

Actually it's a QuarterSteel because it doesn't have inside or back art -- only a quarter of the art of a regular SteelBook!

It means its around £5 per movie, since you only pay quarter the price.
